I haven’t actually watched the pageant since mom passed on but it seems to be on fox (possibly because its owned by trump these days) and the previews ive seen make it look like the tryouts for amature night at the KitKat club …
am I missing anything or is that how it is now days and I’m getting old ?
If the promos DO look like armature night at the Kit Kat Club, it’s probably because they’re trying to generate some interest.
Haven’t beauty pageants always been rather porny? Let’s be honest, here: We’re not actually honoring these young women because they want to bring world peace and protect all the cute puppies. A beauty pageant is inherently about honoring women because they’re hot.
Oh, come on Chronos . . . we march cosmetically and surgically “enhanced” women of a very specific body type in front of male audiences in bikinis, and you’re trying to tell me that it’s not because they’re smart and talented!?
Wait, the male audiences are in bikinis? I missed that part.
Miss America (which is not related to Miss USA) has for several years promoted itself as a scholarship pageant.

Not that it matters much but Donald Trump no longer owns the Miss Universe pageant.
After his spat with Univision last year he bought out their stake and then sold the whole thing. It is now owned by William Morris (the agency, not a person named that).
By G-d, I thought that was the Windows TM key! That’s what I’ve been doing wrong.

As for any event seeking to stay popular, it’s necessary for the Miss USA pageant to keep up with the times.

I love that. Perfectly Trumpy. Scholarships “made available”. And they refuse to say exactly how much.
But she’s hot!
I can’t say they are making it more porny until there’s a significant change in the talent competition portion. 
When the batons keep coming out but aren’t being twirled we’ll know.
