Wow, Kelsey Grammer is a Trump supporter? I thought he was intelligent

Thanks for acknowledging the mistake. I appreciate it.

Authored or “Authored”? I would fully expect that they are ghost written, not because of his political views but rather most people are not writers.

Kelsey Grammer is famous for playing an erudite and progressive-minded character on TV.

But he also played Sideshow Bob.

I expect he really did write the autobiography. See this Jezebel review:

Grammer has had a fascinating and tragic life that includes drug addiction, destructive romantic relationships, career highs and lows and—most horrifyingly—the murder of multiple family members. His personal story—even without exaggeration—makes for excellent celebrity memoir fodder. That said, there’s one thing you should know before RUNNING to your local bookstore to buy out all the copies of So Far… for yourself:

Kelsey Grammer is a fucking asshole.

While the stereotype of the self-aggrandizing actor is hardly new or unproven, the Kelsey of 1995 took it to groundbreaking levels. His ego is so big, in fact, that my initial plan to note anytime Grammer looked like an insane megalomaniac became an incredibly overwhelming task.

Given all that, it’s hard to believe that someone else served as a ghostwriter. I expect that they’d try to tone things down somewhat. That review sounds exactly like what you’d expect of a book that Grammer actually wrote about himself.

The mystery novel was cowritten with another author, so that one he very well might not have written himself, either not primarily or even really at all. Maybe he floated the idea of the story to Laurie J. Bailey, who then wrote it, and Grammer performed it for the audiobook. I don’t know the answer to that one.

I am in no way defending Grammer, either as a person or defending his intelligence. I was just pointing out the holes in the argument that he’s dumb because he’s an actor, and writers are smart, when not only is he not just an actor, he’s also at least something of a writer.

I can’t help but think of the meme floating around of Kelsey Grammer’s head on a Nazi and the phrase “Grammer Nazi” below. Of course a Grammer Nazi would support Trump.

No, but Glenn was Black.

Is he pro-choice? I would have guessed “yes”, but I have no real idea.

His father was murdered. His sister was murdered. I don’t have links but am sure this pushes a person to the right. Just think about the wild popularity of far right El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, elected because of his country having the world’s highest homicide rate.

I won’t include the heartbreaking links, but I have seen news reports, from both sides in the current Israel-Hamas war, where parents long-associated with peace-making instantly reversed their stance when family members were killed.

Conservatism is also correlated with the number of children you have, and Wikipedia says Grammer has seven. I hypothesize that being rich reduces the pressures of having seven children, so that wouldn’t be a big factor here. Two family members murdered — that has to shape your world view.

I was conservative Republican growing up and I still think Romney would have been a good president(I supported Obama, though).

It seems so massively obvious that Trump has nothing to do with conservative views or issues. He is a huge harm to the nation.

Y’know, actors act. No reason we should all expect their personal character or beliefs to fit the headcanon each of us assembles from their roles and/or their public-facing events.

And really if we’re going to declare as axiomatic that there is just no way anyone can ever possibly in good faith support Trump, then it kind of becomes pointless to discuss how someone came to do so, doesn’t it?

The media seems unsure. For what it’s worth, Wikipedia says this about it:

A New York magazine profile published in 2010 described Grammer as pro-choice. In 2015, however, his wife posted an Instagram photo of Grammer wearing a T-shirt from the pro-life group Abort73.

I have never met Kelsey Grammar personally, but I did deliver a pizza to his home once. Several pizzas, in fact, about 5 of them.

Didn’t tip.

That seals it. He’s scum.

Definitely a conservative. “What do you mean ‘trickle down’? Work harder, prole!”

But you’d think a true Trump voter would actually figure out a way to not pay for the pies.

Stranger

I think he still is!

How do they rationalize away the fact that it’s a sin to vote for a Republican?

I thought he died a few years ago

Michael Corbett (Glenn’s accomplice in the murders) died in prison back in 2019, that’s probably what you’re remembering.

Glenn is still alive, he’s only 66 so may be around for a few years yet.

Must be. 2019 definitely rings a bell.

What I feel is axiomatic is that there is no good reason to support Trump. Which leaves the bad reasons people support Trump open to discussion.
