Hey, that’s a fun, jazzy version of Time of the Season, with good guitar and piano, and (yes) the singer showing some leg.
Girl In A Coma - As the World Falls Down (David Bowie)
I love this band. This is an indie-rock cover of David Bowie’s haunting classic from Labyrinth.
That is a good one.
Meant to reply to Johanna’s Yes, America cover. New board is sometimes perplexing.
A million years ago I read or heard or saw somewhere that the Beatles went in to record one of their songs (Please Please Me IIRC) and it just wasn’t working. They were approaching it like a slow Roy Orbison song. George Martin said they should speed it up and the rest is history.
I like this version. Would it have made it as a hit, supposing the Bangles hadn’t already done it? I don’t know. My ears like it, though. And the look of the video is sweet.
I know I’ve linked this Rush cover by Jacob Moon before but it’s fun and I’m plumbing the depths of my music favorites tonight so here it is for anyone that hasn’t seen it.
“Subdivisions”
Billie Eilish’s cover of Bad
Jewel’s duet of Leaving on a Jet Plane
Sorry, Linking stuff on this forum with an iPad just bewilders me.
Truly outstanding! But this version by First Aid Kit brings me to tears.
OK, I’m liking these guys.
Counting Stars, One Republic cover. I don’t know the original, but I’m liking this.
Norwegian metal artist Leo Moracchioli has made a thing of doing metal covers of various songs. For obvious reasons, the least interesting ones are ones that were metal or hard rock to begin with, but those still work.
A few of my favourites:
Jolene (original Dolly Parton):
Tragedy (original Bee Gees):
(This one feels particularly heavy (emotionally, not musically), since he and his wife had just decided to divorce when he did it.)
Our House (original Madness):
(The bunny suit is one of his trademarks.)
I don’t believe I’ve seen this one, so if it’s a duplicate I apologize.
Ladies and Gentleman, I give you
Very nice, thanks for posting!
