Nice!
Enjoyed.
This is a cover of Early Morning Rain by Gordon Lightfoot. It’s a great cover, but I have to admit I like listening to it mostly because hearing a song written by a Canadian and covered mostly by people from the US, sung by a guy with a strong Northern English (Leeds?) accent is hilarious.
I almost always add Al Green’s cover of The Bee Gee’s How Can You Mend a Broken Heart in ‘good cover’ threads but in keeping with the more indie vibe of this thread, here’s a folkie cover of Abba’s Dancing Queen.
Like!
Nice, thanks!
Excellent @Biggirl
And it makes me wonder what the Abba cover of folk would be like. Or Abba doing a cheerful version of Vincent - Don Maclean.
Anyway, this is the version of Angel of the Morning where she’s a naive teenager instead of an adult who’s been around the block a few times:
Billie Davis - Angel Of The Morning (1968) - YouTube
And for contrast, this is the only interesting cover version of “Sadder but Wiser Girl” I ever found – terrible production, but at least he doesn’t seem to be trying to re-create the original. Peoples, I’m still looking for a punk cover, you’d think it would be a natural.

Stumbled across this today. I’m not a huge MJ fan but this is an amazing display of bass talent.
Music startes at :42
Thanks! BTW, am I the only one who doesn’t get sound when trying to watch YouTube videos directly from threads and have to directly to YouTube?
They play with sound for me.
I see your Al Green and throw in a duet with Lyle Lovett. Live!
Oh, and if you’re concerned or depressed at all, just look at Rev. Green’s shit-eatin’ grin as the song opens. The man is so happy (plus, a little mugging for the audience).
Seals and Crofts, covered by…Seals and Crofts 2?
Experience the music of 70s rock duo Seals & Crofts in a whole new way. Hear the hits “Summer Breeze,” “Diamond Girl,” and “We May Never Pass This Way (Again),” artfully re-imagined with a reverent nod to the past. Seals & Crofts 2, comprised of Brady Seals (cousin to James “Jim” Seals) and Lua Crofts (daughter of Darrell “Dash” Crofts) will dazzle you on their debut album.
Liked the Angel Of The Morning cover. Remember that song well from back in the day.
Thanks!
I saw the cat and I had to check her channel to see if something had happened to her little dog! Nope, he was in a video just a couple days ago. Whew!
Not my favorite music, but she makes me smile anyway.
My favorite cover ladies have a new one a Joni Mitchell tribute.
