Wow, that's a great cover of that song

Within Temptation (Dutch Rock/Metal Band) has done two covers that I like better than the originals- “Radioactive” (Imagine Dragons) and “Titanium” (David Guetta). They took pop songs and turned them into rock!

I also love Halestorm’s (Lzzy Hale) cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”.

I’m partial to this Dolly Parton cover: Jolene by a fairly unknown band, Congo Cowboys.

Lyrics in one of the many Congolese dialects, I am not sure which.

I just came across Australia’s queen of country music, Kasey Chambers doing a live cover of Eminems’s Lose Yourself. It is interesting where she goes with it.

A Pointer Sisters cover.

That’s great! I’ve always like Kasey Chambers. After Barricades came out, I hyped it to all my friends but they didn’t seem to appreciate it as much.

Fountains Of Wayne cover of The Moody Blues’ “The Story In Your Eyes”:

Whilst doing some research for @EinsteinsHund’s excellent thread on artists covering each other’s work, I came across this little beauty. I thought I knew Graham Parker pretty well, but clearly not well enough. Graham does The Jackson Five:

If you prefer a (very) rough and ready live version, there is one - here. Scrolling down to see if I could find out more information, I came across this comment (by someone called Scott Siegling) that made me laugh out loud:

The best cover ever.
Don’t send a boy to do a man’s job!

An extended tangent on mothering and “motherly duties” in another thread brought this song to mind. Originated by Blind Willie Johnson in 1927, its blues roots quickly leaked over to folk/country, so it’s been covered by everyone from Clapton to the Carter Family. My favorite is by Roseanne Cash, from her father’s list of essential songs she needed to perform.

Not sure if I’ve already done this one but…

This one has been done by just about everyone, but this guy does a masterful jog!

Kenni and the Jets, by The Fearless Flyers & Delta Force …

For obvious reasons, there have been a lot of recent covers of Christine McVie’s songs. I think this is one of the best pure acoustic takes on this song.

Very, very nice.

Love Turn The Page, Metallica version

The Whole of the Moon - The Waterboys covered by Fiona Apple

Fiona Apple covers The Waterboys’ “The Whole of the Moon” | Boing Boing

He also did a nice cover of Hold Back The Night, by the Trampps, and a decent version of Chain of Fools.

Another great one off that Cohen covers album:

Kpop Girl’s Day - Something by Bang Hyuna (she later changed to stage name to Linah to match Minah)

This is from the Korean (the original), I Can See Your Voice.

The premise of the show is the judges have to guess who are the bad singers and who are real.

Hyuna’s appearance is one of the greatest moments because she was either the older sister of the Minah of Girl’s Day or a look-alike. She wore sunglasses because the family resemblance was too clear.

Hyuna

Girl’s Day

She not only sounds like her sister, but she sings all the main parts. The judges are asking if she’s really singing.

Minah makes a surprise appearance in the middle of the song, which is why everyone is so shocked. Including Hyuna.

Hyuna was in her own group at the time, Wanna.b. But they disbanded in 2019 and Hyuna now works as a barista.

Earlier in the show, Hyuna said she hopes her parents were watching. Later, when she made a rare TV appearance with Minah, Minah said she didn’t tell her Mom she would appear on the show as a surprise. And when she called after the show, her Mom was silent and started crying because she said she never thought she’d see her two daughters on TV together!

Hyuna’s normal singing and rapping voice is different than on this show. She practiced with Minah for four months.
