Chris Cornell’s daughter covered Pearl Jam’s Black.
Middle Aged Dad Jam Band doing Billy Joel’s “Scenes From an Italian Restaurant” with Weird Al sitting in on accordian.
The group seems to be music industry pros who just recently launched a YT channel. Maybe not a “great” cover but a great combination of professionalism and goofiness.
TIL Sly and the Family Stone covered Doris Day’s “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)”. By all rights this should be a weird and terrible mismatch. Much to my surprise, it is not. But it is a very different vibe to Day’s version.
This is an odd one - more of a remix than a cover, but I really don’t know where else to post it.
Most music fans of Doper age will know All The Young Dudes by Mott The Hoople; and probably that it was written and produced by David Bowie. In fact Bowie recorded a version himself.
However, I didn’t know until yesterday that as part of the recording process of the Mott The Hoople version, Bowie laid down a guide vocal to demonstrate how the song worked - and then Ian Hunter recorded the vocal for the finished recording. And, some time later, the Mott The Hoople version was “remixed” using Bowie’s guide vocal. And I believe I have managed to track it down. Enjoy:

I was at a pizza place in St. Paul a few months ago. Good 'za, and some bluesy tunes on the sound system. And then a cover of Right Down the Line came on; female vocalist, fantastic song. I had to ask the guy working there who it was.
Dengue Fever have an interesting back story, and wow, this is a great cover.
Dengue Fever are a lot of fun and yes, the whole story around recruiting Chhom Nimol is entertaining.
Not sure how I feel about this cover yet, but I like some of their other work.
I love this version of my favorite Dylan song, Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands.
It’s pretty. I was floating with it but about half way through she kicked it up a notch - whoa!
I don’t know how I missd this but stumbled on this acoustic cover of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years” from 2014
Apparently, it was inspired by Ryan Adams cover from 2011 for the Californication TV show soundtrack.
Absolutely brilliant! I’m a little embarrassed that as a former guitarist in a Maiden cover band, it has never occurred to me reinterpret this song.I also had no idea how many people have covered it until fairly recently.
I just found this. A great cover of a Motown classic by someone many of us might think of as a one-hit wonder.
Both of those are amazing!
I hated Osborne’s one hit (“One of Us”), but in recent years I’ve heard her covers of various songs, and they are always very well-executed. She doesn’t do that annoying “woe is me”-style of cover songs with the high-pitched, breathy voice and a ukelele.
