Wow, that's a great cover of that song

That was great and they (the Dire Straits versions) were great too. Thanks!

There’s also another version of this on the PMJ channel that’s edited to look/sound like it’s from the 20s.

I don’t think I linked to this when I found it a while back. I’ve never heard of the band, but based on the views they have on youtube, they’re doing alright.

I can’t believe I didn’t think to post this sooner.

AI has officially scared the shit out of me today…

Jeebus. At least none of them are actually great covers of any of those songs.

The Garth Brooks version of “Hard Luck Woman” is vastly superior to the KISS version.

I think I read somewhere that that song was inspired by “You Wear It Well”, by Rod Stewart.

This “cover” of Beethoven’s Fur Elise gave me chills, and then an urge to jump and and just yell how much I loved it.

That was stellar, thanks for posting!

I recently ran across this on Postmodern Jukebox and dug a little deeper into the singer, Olivia Kuper Harris.

I found a great cover of Let’s Stay Together. I think she did a good job of showing off what she can do without sounding like a show off.

I’m not sure if this is considered a cover, but I know we other Drumeo fans here. Unlike their normal ‘learn this song’ videos, of which this is one, it starts out with him doing an improved run through of a song he’s never heard.

Here’s a pretty great vocal performance. Raw, but has a lot of feeling.

This is now my favorite cover of Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight:

I think the standout there is the girl playing drums, who turns out to be a well-known German YouTube personality.

To the best of my knowledge, I’d never heard this song before I heard this version of it, but I still thought it was a great cover.

That’s a great song and a great cover. IMO, it’s difficult to accompany yourself with only an electric guitar. Sting was really good at that.

Frank Watkinson is just a nice old guy with a guitar, and plays some unexpectedly great covers…

A-ha, Take on Me

Mazzy Star, Fade Into You

I like Frank, I listen to him now and again. He writes too. One of his best originals is Who Could Have Known.

I can’t listen to him too long though, he uses that same fingerpicking style on every song. Strum sometimes, dude!
