Because, I generally think that Microsoft uses their market dominance to sell inferior products.
As far as search engines go, I really miss Altavista. I think it’s UI was much better than Google. I also find Google’s “helpfulness” to be really irritating - the inability to search for an exact term without getting results from similar terms is a huge annoyance.
I haven’t compared this behavior in Bing yet.
I find Bing fine. The results it gives are not much different. Google is getting to be such an octopus that it’s reached the point where using a Microsoft product seems less intrusive. Weird.
Bing also came to my rescue a few months ago when I was looking for a particular video. Google insisted on showing page after page of useless youtube results all of which were related to, but were not, the video I was looking for. I had the idea of using Bing since it isn’t associated with youtube. Whaddayknow it immediately came up with what I was looking for. Could Google’s algorithm be biased to sites owned by Google? Ya think?
