It’s a Mr. Bubble commercial. We kids thought it was so great that we had it memorized and would mimic the little boy. It’s animated even better than I remember it.
For some reason, it’s the middle commercial in a “clump” of three. It starts at about 1:19. Who else remembers this one?
I was almost beginning to believe that this commercial was a false memory since it seemed that I was the only person who remembered it. My deepest appreciation for the link, teela brown. Now I can show my wife that I don’t just have a warped imagination.
Proscutor: You’re name is Mr. Bubble.
Mr. Bubble: That’s right.
Prosecutor: And you climb into bathtubs with naked little boys?
Mr. Bubble: No, you’ve got it all wrong . . .
Prosecutor: I think I’ve got it right, Mr. Bubble.
I have an awesome commercial from the late 90s on a crappy videotape. What are all the steps I would have to go to to get the darn thing on YouTube?
It’s a Levi’s commercial where two young guys are traveling in probably Egypt and the metal detector keeps beeping on the one guy’s crotch (due to the button fly), and then…I don’t want to give away the ending.
I don’t remember that TV ad, but I definitely remember the picture of the boy on the box in the lower right hand corner.
While were on the subject of commercials, might I hijack? Anyone remember the public service commercial, from, I’m guessing the late 60’s or early 70’s, featuring two vaugely Soviet looking dictator-types, who are taken to the top of a hill where they proceed to duke it out? I’d love a link if anyone has one.
Too bad YouTube has only black and white copies; the commercials were originally in color. The voice of Mr. Bubble is Thurl Ravenscroft, best known for voicing Tony the Tiger and singing the “Grim Grinning Ghosts” song in Disney’s Haunted Mansion.
