Writers' Forums?

Any aspiring writers out there? I am seeking recommendations for online writing forums. I thought Writer’s Digest (WD) ran such a forum, but I cannot seem to find a link to their forum. I seem to recall it was a separate link from the WD website itself. If anyone has the link to the WD forum and/or other writing forums would be greatly appreciated.

AbsoluteWrite is a pretty good one. I haven’t posted there much because it can be a time suck (any writer’s forum can.) But it’s a lot of fun, and there is even a subforum for critiques.

Edit: Looks like the forum is down at the moment. Damn. But it does look like they are trying to get things up and running again.

AbsoluteWrite is an excellent forum.

critters.org is a good place to get critiques on your work.

I am NOT a writer, so take these with a grain of salt. But these resources look interesting to me.

There’s a forum called Scribophile. They do critiques but you have to do some first.

I saw this Reddit post about twitter hashtags that someone really liked. It’s two years old, but the hashtags are pretty generic. They might provide some inspiration and encouragement.

Then there’s a bunch of subReddits that offer critiques like r/writing or r/writingprompts

And here’s a list of subReddits related to writing, everything from different genres, publishing, contests, prompts, critiques, etc.

I’m not sure what genre you write but if you’re looking for crits, I can recommend The Sci-fi, Fantasy and Horror Writer’s Workshop. You earn critiques by critiquing others, which in my opinion is great, because you can learn a lot about writing by giving critiques.
