Back to the OP…I was watching O’Reilly the other day and he seemed to address the point in his letters, in the usual O’Reilly way. Someone sent a letter saying something about his racist views towards Mexicans, and Bill dismissed it as trying to divert the issue away from troops on the border. No mention of “wetback”, though I’m sure he received a good deal of mail about it. Probably just wants to pretend it never happened. Oh well.
So, did the term “wetback” get its start from the Federal program from the 1950s, “Operation Wetback”, which was the last time the Feds seriously went after illegal aliens? Or was the term used before then?
The military is already being used in the War Against Drugs. They are right now using the military to inderdict drug shipments into the US. The last couple of times I have went to Tijauna, there were National Guard troops on the border helping out customs.
Now, if drug law enforcement is not a violation of Posse Comitatus, how much less of a violation is stopping illegal aliens from coming into the country at the border(notice I do not mention the apprehension of the millions of illegal aliens inside the interior of the US.)? And the military is well trained for this type of activity as well, being that patrolling is one of the first things troops learn in basic training.
Not that there’s a point arguing with such ignorance, but…I can’t believe you honestly see no difference between an obscene slur and a racially offensive one. Are you really that stupid?
