This is a good board and I’d hate to see it degenerate into mods vs users. The rules are fairly strict; no editing quotes, no personal attacks outside The Pit, etc. As a result the signal to noise ratio is very good.

But then after years with only one new forum (The Game Room), Ed comes in and sticks his Barn House 'twixt our nethers, gets whined into moving it, and now Ed’s ban-happy. Well, we’re all human. When we make a mistake and lose our tempers, we should fix the mistake and apologize. Ed’s done that, fair enough. As for saying they all work hard and are fine people (even though they make mistakes too), it’s a sign of good leadership to make the praise public and keep the criticism private.

I totally understand the banning. I used to teach in elementary school. There are times when you need to get control of a classroom. You tell them all to shut the fuck up and the next fucking kid who says a word is going to take a hike down the hall. There’s always one little shit who just has to pipe up and test the teacher. Otto was that little shit, and you always have to follow through and make an example of that little shit or they’ll all start doing it.
