X-Com now back and available on Steam

I know I’ve made negative comments about Steam in the past but it’s back in my cool books now.

All the X-com games are now on there for $13.50 !

UFO: Oh Yeah! Gimme a Plasma Pistol!
Terror from the Deep: It’s all about the vibroblades baby!
Apocalypse: Alien Blasting in another dimension.
Interceptor: A good laugh and worth playing.
Enforcer: I’m not even sure what this one was meant to be about.

So I just bought three brilliant games, one average one and one odd one for the same price as lunch.

Of course, I already owned these games but they need an awful lot of work to function under XP or Vista, when I did get them working they had their problems. And now they don’t, they play like they were meant to. Thank you for re-coding them Steam people.

I love my old games.

woot … though i wonder if the cracking program that a friend of mine made to give me any amount of goodies i wanted will still work… =)

I think it will.
I merrily edited my money in Apocalypse using a simple hex editor earlier.

It is a horrible FPS.

yeah I loved the first two X-com and missed the turn by turn combat.
Woo Hoo!

I should point out the games are only $13.50 until the 11th September, then they revert back to their original price. $14.99.

Also the id super pack is available until September 8th.

And here I was, trying to save some money for the holidays :smack:

I have Enforcer. It is NOT a FPS. It’s a pure arcade shooter. The areas are fairly small, but jammed with enemies. Your constantly spraying out a stream of bullets, or lasers, or whatever. There’s power ups to collect, extra lives, different weapons, etc. It plays a lot like the old Robotron arcade game. It is quite fun, but it has almost nothing to do with X-Com except the title.

It’s a shame they didn’t make a good FPS.
I love the concept of X-Com Alliance. I always named my soldiers in UFO and TFTD after my friends and I anyway.
ETA: Why are all the google ads on this screen for Cat related products? Do cats play xcom? or is there an xcom game where you save the world from cats?

My google ad is a “clean coal” ad… which has nothing to do with computers games either. Heh.
