Did anyone watch the new episode introducing X23?
Arghh! Was it on already? When? Did I miss two episodes? My guide says X23 was supposed to be the second episode.
Here in California it aired at 9:30 a.m. August 2, 2003 on the WB20. It seemed to me to be the first episode of this new season.
Looks like Cartoon Network only shows X-Men : Evolution now from Sundays through Thursday nights at 10:30 now. It used to also air on Saturday nights at 9 p.m., but the new Teen Titans has taken over that time slot.
Here is some information about it.
On August 9th they will air “Dark Horizons Part 1”
Most plots in Xmen:Evolution seem to be plots from some Xmen comic, just twisted. Is this new character based on anything or just made for the show?
I thought it was pretty good. Don’t know if they needed to throw it in the middle of the Apocalypse arc, though.
“X23” was pretty bad-ass character. She really showed how these X-Men would do against a real fighter.
Here are some pictures from the X23 episode.
It’s a news and updates page, so I don’t know when it’ll change. But for now it does show pics from the X23 episode.
AUGGH! I knew I forgot to tape something! :smack:
By any chance…did they happen to give the character “X23” a real “name,” at any point?
X23 seems to be new—a replacement die gruff Sabertooth perhaps?
Wow–she looks like she has Inuit features. Was Logan part Inuit as well?
…Part Greek, maybe?
Yeah, I watched “X23” this morning. It was an okay episode. The ending, I felt, was a bit disappointing. No real resolution at all on X23. She just sort of ran off when Logan told her to (presumably into the mansion, but it’s possible she ran away). It was a pretty good Logan episode. It softened his character a tad bit, and we had what’s probably the conclusion of the Rogue arc from last season’s “Self-Possessed.”
I wonder how soon Cartoon Network is going to get the new episodes and put them into rotation. In about about two months, their schedule would be at the point to insert them into the rotation.
Dang it, I really need to get control on my trigger finger here.
Another quibble I had with the episode was a minor one:
Fury said that they detected Logan’s DNA in their lab after X23’s attack. How? X23 had genetic manipulation done to (1) make her a woman and (2) alter her claw mutations. Wouldn’t that make her DNA different from Logan’s?
I’ve watched the episode twice so far (once when it aired, and once on tape). It was good, but I’ve seen other episodes I like much better. The brief scene with Rogue and Professor Xavier in the infirmary seemed really rushed:
When I first watched it, I thought maybe Rogue wanted to stay in the infirmary because she wasn’t ready to face her teammates after the events in Self Possessed. When I watched it again, I got the impression she was just trying to avoid Logan’s training session. I’m still not sure what she was thinking.
Then again I’m a Rogue fan, so I’d like to see her get more screen time.
I liked the little snippets of the X-Men goofing off as X23 watched them, too. BTW: Did anyone else notice that Jean still had a photo of herself and Duncan Matthews on her bedroom wall? I thought that was strange considering she dumped him half a season ago.
As for X23:
Hydra put a 12-year-old through the Weapon X program?! That almost made me sick. My reaction pretty much matched Logan’s.
Anyone else disappointed that we didn’t get any clips for next week’s episode? I want my previews!
Drat!
When are they going to re-run it? When? When? WHEN?!!
ladybug, yeah, I noticed the Duncan photo. I think it’s really odd that the photo was still there just for the fact that Jean was really infuriated with Duncan for his attitude back in “Mainstream.” If I had a copy of the episode on tape, I’d slo-mo that scene to see if she had any pictures of those girls she used to hang out with.
sort of spoil

She was a bit more than a “real fighter.” Even mutants are rarelt that agile, skilled, and buffed.
My take is that they:
- Combined geneticaly grown Wolverine sperm with a specially selected egg. That might have been easier to do than growing a clone from scratch, anyway. Alternatively, they may have selected a fertilized egg and spliced Wolverine’s genes into it.
- I think the claws are supposed to have been added wholesale. It was so in the comics until they retconned it.
- Her DNA would be different, but not every section of it. It may well be that SHIELD noticed that some key section were lifted and were similar or identical to Wolverine’s. Genetic examination is an exact science only for the villains.
So, are they planning to re-run this episode any time before the end of eternity?
