xbox game pass aka gaming netflix style ......wil sony and nintendo help make it a standard

heres the story MSN

But the idea is basically playing (older at first)games from a netflix style catalog for 10 a month
I might of missed it but i wasn’t sure if you downloaded the games and played them through the service like steam or gametap style
My first question is it going to get rid of the free games for gold deal ? since all that is old games and the occasional indy xbox arcade game

And could it turn into say a version of nintendos virtual arcade where you could play the old gaming systems on it for 9.99 a month ? tho it would just be the xbox 360 and one but I remember for a while on the 360 you could play intellivision and a couple of other systems in the game room bit it had shitty pricing …but there is the 360 and one arcade …

what yall think ?

Sony’s had Playstation Now for years. And they still give away games.

he difference here is that Microsoft, like EA, is letting you download the games and play them natively, where as Playstation Now is streaming them to you.

True - but mostly because the PS3’s hardware was an odd beast.
Just saying it doesn’t have to be an either-or.

I’m not saying that either, but this is a big difference in terms of how the game is going to feel, look and perform.

EDIT: I guess you might mean in regards to the effect of it on Games with Gold. Nevermind.
