Xbox One games

So the boychik got an Xbox one for his Purim gift, and a few games. He also got a check from Safta, and I am thinking of getting an account with one of those game services that uses the Netflix business model. You have a cue of games, and you rent them, keep them as long as you want, and then send them back. If he ever gets one he really likes, we can spend the money on the actual game for him.

Up until now, he’s played games on the computer, and been happy with it, but he has a friend with Kinect, and he loves that, which is why he picked the Xbox for his gift.

So, question 1 is, does anyone have experience with these games, and can anyone recommend one.

Question 2 is, Mom (me) used to love playing RPGs on the old school Nintendo, back in the 90s. Is there any game for the Xbox that compares to the classic Dragon Warriors?

The farming RPG Stardew Valley comes to mind.

He might be disappointed to know Microsoft essentially killed that peripheral. There are almost no kinetic games for the Xbox one, and the few that there are aren’t very good.

Well, so far so good-- he’s got the ones he wants. And he spends more time playing his controller game he got than either of us thought he would.

He just finished spring break, and it rained a lot, so we suspended the one hour of Xbox a day rule, and now he’s actually kind of tired of it.

I have my spring break from work next week, and he will be back in school, which is why I was looking for a game I might want to play.

you might like destiny … its shooting but I still think its an online style rpg …

but xbox has a lot of the online free rpgs on it now like the free to play ad&D neverwinter …so check the live arcade and click on "free to play "

Dragon Warriors is an old school, turn based JRPG with an overwolrd map, right?

I can’t help you with xbox one, but there are sever games like that on PC, and they all pretty much run on any laptop or notebook you might have handy.

I think there are some that have been ported to mobile too.

You know what? I just looked at it, and it’s a 360. My husband bought it for him based on the games he wanted. I just assumed it was a One, because it was new out of the box, but turns out DH got it from some warehouse company, very cheap, and it is actually new, but it’s a 360. Anyway, the boychik is very happy with it. So this whole thread was pointless though, sorry to have bothered you. However, if anyone knows a good RPG for the 360, I’m open to suggestions.

Torchlight!
