Gotta confess: even after looking up the lyrics, I didn’t get the joke about Dave Matthews.
I think it’s a reference to a different song.
I’ve never known what it was called, but the only time I’ve seen it used was to stow extension cords, so electrician’s braid makes sense to me.
Shouldn’t there be a freeway runnin’ through the yard in Reseda?
Should be, but it doesn’t look like there’s actually a freeway in Reseda. I checked GoogleMaps and it shows definite boundaries for Reseda. It’s a 2x2 mile square in the San Fernando Valley. The closest freeway is the Ventura Freeway that goes by about a mile south.
So, is that the Ventura Highway that’s in the sunshine?
(Watch out, due to a temporal anomaly, the days are longer… and the nights are stronger than moonshine. And, of course, you do have to be aware of those alligator lizards. No, don’t look down, they’re in the air!)
Don’t look up either, unless you want alligator lizard poop in your eyes.
Maybe just stay inside like the girls with broken hearts (but unpooped hair).
So, Randall, we did some of your work for you on the map of Ventura Highway.
How about mapping a few more songs? Or do we have to do it ourselves…?
It’s honestly no different than using a lens/reflector system. In principle, you can increase the concentration until the flux matches the surface of the sun. And within limits, solar panels actually become more efficient with increased concentration. Cooling can be tricky, though…
I dunno, applying firm pressure (as in giving scratchies) should work on mountain lions. It works on my cat and mountain lions aren’t that different.
Forbidden scritches.
Nice kitty.
I think this one of the best, something that’s absolutely useful to show “the right tool for the job.”
My mom’s most recent cat definitely preferred firm pressure, but I’ve met other cats whose favored petting was just barely skimming the surface of their fur. Cats be weird.
Though the mountain lion that’s receiving the firm pressure does seem to be fairly well-contented with it.

Well, now I just want to call them Pew-Pew-Pews.
