It doesn’t work at all on my iPhone. I just have a big button in the middle that says “TAP TO ENTER FULLSCREEN,” but nothing happens when I tap it.
I’d have thought that, by Munroe’s standards, the top-tier photo would be the one taken from the surface of the Sun.
You need some pretty good filters for that one.
Can’t you take it at night?
The only total solar eclipse I’ve seen was in February, 1979 in Winnipeg. The temperature was already about -18 C, so it didn’t get noticeably colder.
@Northern_Piper, I had a good field of view that day, near the horizon the sky was like the deep blue of dusk, fading to very dark overhead.
Isn’t it a little optimistic to call the Sun “overhead” in Canada in February?

Ah, I searched for munroe and didn’t see it.
The NAD83 system has actually been updated multiple times. It’s reference coordinates are pinned to the continent, rather than being tied to the global geodetic lat/long. Depending on where you live, your “NAD83” coordinate could already have shifted by several feet in the last 40 years as corrections have been made!
No wonder my Tesla keeps driving on the sidewalk!
