Also sandboxes.

Hourglasses, ant farms, sandbags…

Did I misread this or was there another “fix”?

You misread it (which was Randall’s intention).

Oh, and previous installments in this series (as suggested by the “4” in the title):

Curse you Randall Munroe. As God is my witness, I will only wear black hats until I get my revenge.

“[later] I don’t get why our pizza slices have such terrible reviews; the geotextile-infused sauce gives the toppings incredible slope stability!”

I chickened out in the last step and didn’t enable notifications. Did anyone do it? Is the threat of endless notifications the April Fools joke, or is the joke that you actually will get endless notifications?

There are a lot of notifications. Plus various things happen to the image:

After i said i really, really wanted push notifications, it said there was an error sending push notifications, and the image showed the guy sitting in from of a laptop in flames.

I activated it ~15 minutes ago and have probably received 40 notifications so far.

I tried earlier and got nothing., Tried again, and noticed that I had notifications blocked due to browser setting.(not curious enough to unblock them)

Do people actually use push notifications? I’m not sure what the use case for them is.

I’m getting a constant flow of “zoom notifications” that just say (number, number). Examples (33,1), (54,17). Anyone know what to do with these? There are some occasional funny ones mixed in, but mostly just these random number sets.

I tried writing down a bunch of the numbers, interpreted them as 2D coordinates, and wrote a script to visualize them, but it doesn’t seem sensible:

Don’t have any other ideas at the moment.

Oh, maybe i have notifications blocked by my browser. That would make sense. It seems likely i chose to do that at some point.

I clicked through all the way to enable notifications, and I got a browser pop-up saying that I’d enabled notifications from xkcd.com, but I haven’t noticed any actual browser notifications.

Maybe they’re progressive offsets?

Never saw any negative offsets. So if they were progressive, they’d just make a wiggly line that goes up and to the right.

I feel like the “Zoom” is a hint somehow, but I haven’t thought about it too hard (or looked at explainxkcd for a spoiler).
