And even the word “alphabet” itself has become a dirty word because of its connection to “alpha” and “beta”, and gets replaced with the less-offensive “charset”.

Pretty sure it has become a dirty word because “Alphabet Inc.” is the (spun off) parent company of Google, Waymo etc.
And given their behavior now, think of how many more problems they may cause in the future:

The real mnemonic for coral snakes is “If it’s a snake, just leave it alone, because it’s just minding its own business and eating rats and mice”.

Off/topic snake story. I was at Bagram airbase in 2002. A couple of GIs had a baby Cobra upset. A baby as in pencil thin and maybe 10 inches long. It had risen up to its full height of five inches with the hood flared out. I casually mentioned that Cobras give live birth and mom was probably close by and still protective (I don’t know if Cobra moms are protective??? but it was a good story). The guys backed up and the young snake continued on its way. Back to xkcd.

If he’s not going to eat them Randall should send the weird food items to @Mangetout to make a video about them.

Kinda the reverse of the old “rattlesnake egg” gag. You hand someone a paper bag saying it is full of rattlesnake eggs you just collected and within are rubber bands wrapped tightly around something light like paperclips. When you hand it to them they then unspool loudly. The gag of course being worthless if you know that rattlesnakes don’t lay eggs .

Cobras on the other hand, do lay eggs .

Am I the only one a little worried by this latest comic? His wife appears to have recently-post-chemo hair.

ExplainXKCD believes that’s the character they call “Hairy” and that’s who I read that to be too before you made me doubt my guess.

I’m laughing at that way more than I should be. Hasplogpee!

I always pronounced it PIV-nurt, not PAV-nurt. I’ve never attempted the others…

For me, the joke in this one ran for too long. It got tiresome long before I got to “zaBOba fakTOHah” (which I can’t decide whether it’s just random absurdism or actually something).

sohcahtoa should have been in there somewhere

I always thought E=mc2 was pronounced “Emk”. Yet another falsehood from Yahoo Serious.
