On some PC systems I use, if you mouse over a link, you see the true URL at the bottom of the browser. That can be important, since often email spammers show a harmless URL in the body of a message, but the real URL can be revealed, and that can clue you about the hiding malware.
But other systems don’t show anything on mouseover. Does anyone know the setting for this option? It would have to be an XP system setting, or perhaps an IE 8 option, I’m not sure what controls this.
And I’m forced to use IE at some work locations, so Chrome or Firefox isn’t always available.
