I’m going to open the league up at this point, since there doesn’t seem to be a ton of debate on the settings. Former poster Munch wanted to keep hitter’s K’s, but he’s the only one to express that opinion, and a number of us have said we want both the negative stats from last year gone.
I’ve upped the IP limit to 1300 as a compromise, still willing to hear arguments on the right value for that setting.
As far as rackensack’s concern about Can’t Cut List, I’ve found that Yahoo is pretty on the ball about updating that list, usually within 24 hours of a catastrophic injury. If nothing else, if you want to make a move with a Can’t Cut player before Yahoo updates the status, send it to me via email and post a note about it on the league page.
I was the one who pimped Ks last season and I still think we should have Ks. I agree that TBs are a little suspect and they were added last year in order to keep pitchers and hitters stats balanced. In retrospect, I’m not sure why we felt this was important.
So, if voting is still open I’m for dropping TB, but I agree with Munch that batter Ks ought to be included again.
I should pray to the fantasy gods that I don’t get jobbed into a horrible draft position like I have the past two years. I’d love to make my first pick before #15 this year.
So, this weekend I got into this other Yahoo league with a few people I didn’t really know, but sort of knew from other leagues, right? I signed up like an hour before the draft and it was a standard 5X5 roto. Twenty minutes before the draft, the setting are suddenly head-to-head and an ordered draft. Of course, it was too late to get out of the league. Turns out I signed up for a league with about four other suckers like myself who didn’t know what they were getting into, and about five 14-year-old buddies who spent the whole draft calling each other gay and “secretly” IMing each other draft tips. Good times. I’m pretty sure I cleaned up in the draft anyway, but ugh, the public.
Yeah, me and one of the guys I know in that league were threatening to draft all the middle infielders and catchers between us, just to teach those rats a lesson, but that damn Yahoo profile thing makes me at least want to do what I can, even though my overall rating is abysmal anyway.
And of course I would have pulled the trigger on that bitch, but admitting that’s not going to make my woefully inadequate genitalia seem any more adequate, now, is it? Without bitterness I am nothing.
A little bump, both to remind everyone that the draft is this Wednesday at 10 PM Eastern, and also to see if there is anyone out there still interested in joining. We’ve currently got 16 owners, still trying to get to 18. The league info is upthread for those that may be interested!
