Yahoo! tech support blows monkeys

Yahoo! offers free personals. Up until about two days ago, there were two ways to check whether anyone responded to your ad. Either you’d get an email alerting you to a response in your regular mailbox which included a link to the personals box, or you could go into the personals section and click on a direct link labeled “Connect”. Earlier this week the “Connect” link stopped working. This is irritating. Earlier today I email tech support to advise them of the broken link. Their response is to offer me long instructions on how to muck about with my browser for Windows. Slight problem, fuckers, I don’t use Windows. You may have heard of that other OS out there, by that company named after a fruit? I politely email back asking them to translate their advice into Macintosh. Their reply advises me to update to a newer browser except, dumbasses, I’m using the most recent version. Now a bit miffed, I email back, admittedly somewhat curtly, advising them that MY system has not changed in the last two days. THEIR link is broken and THEY need to fix it. They then respond by saying that the personals mailbox system has recently been upgraded and user will no longer be able to access it using Internet Explorer for Mac.

You GODDAMN FUCKING LAZY-ASS WORTHLESS BRAIN DEAD LIARS! I’m sitting at the same fucking computer, accessing the personals box with the same fucking browser using one method, which I explained to you in my first fucking email! This has jack-SHIT to do with compatability and everything to do with the fact that YOUR LINK IS BROKEN. Stop fucking LYING to me and FIX YOUR SHIT!
Oh, and as long as I’m railing at tech support idiots, may I just shout out a heartfelt “fuck you you goat-felching jagoff” to the techno-fuck at work who, in response to being told that a particular program crashed every time I tried to set my preferences, advised me to set my preferences.

The hell? When you get SBC Yahoo DSL on a Mac, IE is what they give you.

I hate useless form letters.

You get what you pay for.

I think it’s a matter of not laying claim to the cesspool that Yahoo! has become.

I belive that yahoo has set up a filter sending useless form letters to everyone that does not send their complaints in all caps or with some sort of expletive. That way it takes you about a month and 2 or 3 polite inquiries before you drop it or get really pissed. Sadly thats the only way I’ve ever gotten a response from a human…hmm I think it was a human

Probably Yahoo-Liza. Great strides are being made in artificial intelligence! :dubious:

I had similar experiences trying to report a problem with Yahoo Instant Messenger. Very annoying.

And here I thought you were cheering a new tech-support service.

Here’s what I don’t get. HTML is made to be used on all platforms. I could get to Yahoo! with a 286 and Lynx, if I wanted. (It’d probably be slow, but anyway…) So why do they need to make a link proprietary!? I mean, it’s a fucking hyperlink! It shouldn’t be platform-specific. The web site of the company my dad used to work for is the same way - he can get to it through IE for OS X, but the formatting’s screwy, and when he calls tech support they say “We don’t support Macs.” The hell? IT’S ALL THE SAME. I realize some little formatting things are different across platforms and browsers, but it’s not that hard to make a website anyone can look at and use.

Oddly enought the title of the OP is exactly the same as the title for some beasiality spam I got recently…

Ok, not really. But it seemed like a funny thing to say at the time…
