Skutir said the Yankees spend 150% of what the Sox spend, not 150% more than what the Sox spend. Perhaps you simply misread it, and maybe it’s just been a long time since you’ve done percents. 187 is, indeed, about 150% of 127.
I’m not sure how to parse “150% more than” into math terms, but it might look like Y = B + (B x 1.5), which means that 150% more than 127 million would be 319 million, which is obviously not the Yankees’ salary. What did you mean by “150% more than?”
