Linkin’ elbows and doin’ the wave just ain’t Pit behavior. Team gloating goes in MPSIMS. Haw Haw! isn’t a fist-swinging brawl in the stands. This ain’t Pit material until somebody sets fire to the team mascot’s costume or a security guard gets nailed with a flying hot dog–with onions.

Everyone was soooo sure the Yankees were back after winning 15 of 17 FROM FUCKIN’ OAKLAND AND SEATTLE. HAW HAW!
Then the Red Sox came to town and quieted some of that noise.
The Royals quieted the rest of it.
And after last weekend, all you heard was, “Red Sox are turning it on again, just like last year.”
Yeah, well, the Sox were 1 strike away from dropping 3 of 4 AT HOME to an injury-depleted Orioles club.
I don’t know if the O’s are for real, but I’ll tell ya. . .they are getting a lot less respect from the Yanks and Sox than they deserve.

Well, what would you call a team that’s in 30th place of 30 teams?
Not that I have anything against them. I like small ball. I like teams built around pitching. I like Kaufman stadium and its cute little waterfall. I like teams that sweep the Yankees. I wish them success unless they’re playing the Twins.
I would love it if the O’s won the AL East. Love it! Especially if both the Bosox and Yankees missed the wild card as well. If the current standings hold up (looking at calendar and rolling eyes), they would, with the Twins getting the WC slot. That suits me fine, looking at the last few winners of the World Series.

Oh come on. Here in K.C. we have so little baseball joy in our lives that we have to cling to victories like this for as long as we possibly can. Let us have our moment, you will surely have many, many more than we will this season.
