Finally 6th of March is round the corner and once again the F1 circus is going to be up and running.
The first race (Australian Grand Prix) on Sunday is the perfect start for what seems like a close and exciting season. Nearly 5 teams are in the fray for the top honours and the other teams look pretty good too.
Ferrari as usual will be the team to emulate but if one goes by the winter testing results Williams BMW will be very very strong,so will be Renault. Mclaren Mercedes should not be discounted at all and BAR look promising too.
Several changes like back to back Qualifiying rounds on Saturday and the use of only one engine thru the weekend will be put to use the first time this season. If you dont follow F1 this might be a good season to start.
Go Ferrari!!
Is it that time of year already?
I’ll be supporting my namesake as usual as he goes for his fifth straight title.
Did you see the Montoya press interview? A couple of Aussie “comedians” thought they’d take the piss by asking inane questions playing on Juan Pablo Montoya’s name - “If you won one race Juan would you want to have won the first won one Juan” and talking on a cell phone throughout. Montoya tried to stay polite but ultimately (and quite rightly in my opinion) walked out.
I haven’t followe dthe preseason particularly closely this year but I’d imagine Raikkonen will be the main challenger again. Anybody know how hte teams are looking at this stage?
I’m watching the timing from the first practice live at The Official Formula 1 Website! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to watch any of the races this season as I didn’t feel like paying $60/month for digital cable…
The Indianapolis Star had a short piece on F1 today, and it mentioned something about rule changes. What’s different, and how will it affect racing?
