Yay for three paycheck months.

June was my 3 check month. It goes into savings.

I don’t consider them “free money.” My check is larger, with no insurance coming out, but they still take out the teacher’s retirement, so it’s only $106 more than usual. Then, the next check isn’t until mid-month, so I don’t feel it matters alot.

I was on a every-two-weeks pay system, and my wife was on a 15th and 30th/31st system. We ALWAYS had money flowing into the account.

Later we were BOTH on a last day of month for all pay system. We were loaded on the 1st, destitute by the 30th.

Do the ferrets know? They are going to be green with envy!

I get paid on 15th/30th, so I only get 24 checks a year. HOWEVER! That means that each pay period is 15 days or more, and 4 of those days are usually weekends. But sometimes there are 5 weekend days in there, which means I only have to work 80 hours a paycheck instead of 88. Of course, that always means I have to work 96 hours the next check because it’s “robbed” of a weekend, but still…it’s nice for the first pay period.

Downer alert: No more ferrets in my life, contrary to the screen name. We had our last ferret put to sleep early this year. She was our longest-lived and we knew for a long time that either the insulinoma or the adrenal disease would eventually kill her. She was doing very well until not long before the end - she even went on a roadtrip to Boston with us (two day-long car rides with a week’s stay in Boston) last August and seemed to rather enjoy it, so we called her our “adventurer ferret.”

I opted against changing the screen name; I owned ferrets for over 15 years and still hold a lot of affection for them, but they just don’t live long enough for me. Our eldest almost made it to 8.

I couldn’t handle not having a little furry critter in the house, though; both my husband and I would come home and catch ourselves saying hi to an empty cage/empty space. :frowning:

My husband had a rabbit when he was little, and suggested a change. We read up on them and I agreed. So, I’m a very happy rabbit owner now. Our two lil’ rabbits are adorable and sweet; one spent at least 15 minutes last night “grooming” my husband by licking at his arms and legs. And I’m currently self-inflicting a guilt trip over their too-small starter cage and how I’m going up the nearest wall waiting for the new one to ship!

We’re in between - we’re on bi-weekly mortgage payments, so we have a couple of three mortgage payments months, but Jim’s on bi-weekly pay, too, so we still get the three cheque months (which, I believe, this is one! Yay!). It’s great when I have a temp assignment, because they almost universally pay weekly. Having money coming in every week really seems to free up your finances. I had one contract where I was paid a very high salary, but it was bill an invoice and get paid later once a month, and it felt like we were always waiting for money from that job.

Same here. I prefer it that way; it makes my bank statement shorter.

June was one for me; December will be the next. Last year was nice, as with Drain Bead, I had three months with three paychecks.

Usually, I use part of it to make an extra car payment, and the rest goes for something useful. (For instance, June’s covered most of my vacation, and December’s will get me a new dining room table.)

I’m just happy that this month is a one paycheck month. First one in a while

Those are the best!

I never notice. it is sad.
