Yay for three paycheck months.

I love three paycheck months like July for me. When you get paid biweekly it usually works out so you get 2 paychecks per months, and run your budget off that. But then, twice a year are the glorious months where three pay Fridays fall between rent/mortgage+bill payment cycles.

Such a nice little bonus, and with being an extended period of unemployment, it feels super double plus good to have bit extra. Most will go into the vault, to buffer against future possible rainy days, but some is earmarked for a little treat. I just don’t know what yet, I wanna make sure it is worth it.

Anybody else got a three paycheck happy this month? Whacha gonna spend it on?

Woo, yeah, it’s that month for me too, plus I got a bonus as well. Bonus went into savings. Some of the extra is going towards a new cage for my rabbits, and a bit more will go into accessories and apps for the iPhone my husband is getting me for my birthday this month.

I get paid once a month, so no three check month for me.
I did get a retention bonus, which is equal to about one monthly check, which is nice, even if I did forget to go except for that month and more than half was taken out in taxes. <I’m barely above poverty level; who the hell pays half their check in taxes?!>

Anyway, I’m trying to keep the bonus on the side in case we go to minimum wage next month, yay.

We’re going to Disneyland!
No, really. We’re going next weekend. The trip’s been planned for months, but it was nice a few weeks ago when we realized that the ‘extra’ paycheck will pretty much pay for our vacation

The way the due date falls my on my rent, the “extra” check for me will be the second one in August, at which point I will pay off the IRS the bit that I owe them. The rest I hope to stash away, but I’ll end up spending at least a bit on me. Normally one of my checks goes mostly for rent, the other mostly for bills, a constant balancing act. I hate it. The extra check months are always nice.

Yeah, it comes in March and September for me. It’s like free money! (Actually, I save it to spend on property taxes, so it’s not really that much fun).

I love bonus paycheck month. I’ve been wanting a new laptop. I just haven’t figured out which one to get yet.

Decisions, decisions.

My extra paycheck came in April, went straight to the IRS, and more. :frowning:

This is not Mr.Moons bonus pay month but last night in the mail was a terrifying revenue Canada envelope. I opened it to discover they returned the $154 I paid them plus $400 more! Score!

All of mine is going straight into the “Oh Shit!” fund.

Most of it is going back into Savings for Mr. Serenata and I, but we are using some of it to finance a trip to Six Flags and a visit to my parents (all in the same weekend). I like not having to rework the entire budget just to afford the gas to visit my parents, who live about 6 hours away (depending on what time I go through Chicago on my way to see them).

My next one is in October: but then we’ll probably bonus in November, so I get two months in a row!

Moonlitherial, I wish I could get a letter like that from the IRS.

Oh the nausea when you see one of those envelopes in the mailbox, with your name on it…yikes!

My 3 paycheck month came in April. In a way, I like it because it’s a bonus in that my budget is set up on a monthly basis and based upon the two paychecks a month I get so the extra two I get per year aren’t factored in. Also, they don’t take out things like insurance and other deductions so it truly is a bonus bonus.

But honestly? I’d rather not do all that creative accounting. I’d rather just get paid on the 1st and 15th because my salary is based upon a monthly total, not a bi-weekly total. But that would require payroll to do some extra work…

I get paid once at then end of the month.

Yep, that about nails it for me, too. I’ve been all :):) about it ever since a co-worker pointed it out to me the other week.

My “extra” all gets thrown into the credit card hole. Gawd, it’ll be nice to be able to pay that down a bit.

Ah bonus month! At the last company I worked for, they paid once every 4 weeks. So I remember bonus month well. I get paid once a month now and I do miss. it.

Yep, I get one this month and will have another in December.

Last year there were THREE three paycheck months, which was pretty crazy.

I have the opposite situation; Every month is two paycheque month, but a couple times a year it is 3 mortgage payment month. It’s like an extra surprise bill on those months. :frowning:

All I’ll do is use it to get caught up on the things I’m a little behind on, same as I do every time this happened. What this means is that instead of paying my mortgage on the 13th or 14th like I have been the past few months, I’ll actually pay it on the 1st or 2nd for the next few months, until I start falling behind again.

The three paycheck month that tickled me the most was February 2008. I mean, of all the months to have 5 Fridays in it, a February?
