Ye Olde Tyme TV Showe Name That Tune

Perfect Strangers

Sorry, I don’t know the other one.

Anyone know …

“Cross the rainbow bridge of Asgard
Where the booming heavens roar
[KER-ACKKK!]
You’ll behold with breathless wonder …”
[RUMMMBLE]

or

"Marshall, Will and Holly
On a routine expedition… "

And make it snappy? You smell like Pappy? This song is sappy?

…That Girl…

When the world never seems
To be living up to your dreams.

and

. . . all those who chose to oppose his shield must yield!!

The Mighty Thor?

Land of the Lost (original version)

Land of the Lost.
I don’t know the other one.

Land of the Lost.

Mine:
“We pass on the stratas in our magic ship
We’re strong for our hearts now beat as one
Matt and Rebecca believe Arkana
Brave while the sun still burns”

Oh, and damn you for putting that song into my head, causing me to search the Web endlessly until I found a RealAudio clip of it.

Where Cathy adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,
Our Patty loves to rock and roll,
A hot dog makes her lose control …
What a wild duet!

The street that wears a fancy label,
That’s glorified in song and fable.
The most exciting people pass you by,
Including a private eye.
What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin’ stones,
You’ll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin’ in the shade.

Whether it’s hot,
whether it’s cool,
oh what a spot,
for whistlin’ like a fool.
The sound of hoofbeats cross the glade,
Good folk, lock up your son and daughter,
Beware the deadly flashing blade,
Unless, you want to end up shorter,
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
I know that you can lend a helping hand.
Because there’s good in everyone
And a new day has begun
You can see the morning sun if you try.
And I know, things will be better
The soft island breeze brings you strange melodies
And they tell of exotic mysteries under the tropical spell of

Where love and adventure await
This is your fate
And you can not stray from
You can’t run away from…
A scientist both wise and bold
Set out to cure the common cold
Instead he found a power pill
Which he said most certainly will
Change a lamb into a lion
Like an eagle he’ll be flyin
Solid steel will be like putty
It’ll work on anybody.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they’re turned around.
Who’d have thought they’d lead ya (Who’d have thought they’d lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)
And on a star spangled night my love, (My love come to me).
You can rest you head on my shoulder.
Out by the dawn’s early light, my love
I will defend your right to try.
Soft guitars under the palms
Will gently lead you to a lover’s arms
See the waves kissing the shore
While you are kissing someone you adore.
Like a beautiful child
Growing up, free and wild.
Full of hopes and full of fears,
Full of laughter, full of tears,
Full of dreams to last a year

Mr. Terrific Pill-popping to gain super powers…ahh, those innocent sixties!
Welcome Back, Kotter Ooh! Ooh! I know that one!

They walk alike, they talk alike-- You could lose your mind!-- thinking about the silly premise of The Patty Duke Show

Love American Style is truer than the red, white and blu–uu–uu–uue.

I tried to gather all the unanswered ones. If I skipped one that wasn’t answered or post one that was answered, well, too bad. No, wait. I mean sorry.

Here’s the answer to my ‘Partridge Family’s orignal-but-unremembered theme’ question.

The first theme’s chorus hook was, “When We’re Singin’”. Actually, Bibliocat’s answer on the first page was sort of incorrect, since it turns out that the lyrics I posted only came with the “When We’re Singin’” theme, and that the body of the “C’mon Get Happy” theme was different.

Here is a link to both songs, which are sung to the same tune.

Another easy one:

Who can turn the world on with a smile?

Tricky one! The version used on the show itself, of course, did not feature any words–only that foolish whistlin’. The Andy Griffith Show!

In a similar vein:

Here in the west
We’re livin’ in the best ______!

Bonanza! Actually, I don’t remember those words, but they fit the tune. I do remember the time that the Cartwrights sang the song while riding out of town. The lyrics I remember were:

If you’ve got a fuss
with any one of us,
you’ll have a fight with me!

His brain’s overloading/
it has a chocolate coating

Actually, I believe it’s

His brain is overloaded,
His head is chocolate coated,
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!
Here’s a stumper…as a clue, it was only ever used for the first episode or two of the series before they went to an instrumental version that’s one of the most recognized TV themes ever:

I try to find a way to make
All our little joys relate
Without that ever-present hate
But now I know that it’s too late…

Ahem. http://www.relaxorium.com/freak/ - Freakazoid lyrics detailed.

Your new one sounds like Suicide is Painless, from MASH.
