Ye Olde Weight Loss Thread

While I’m sure most of you (well, most of any group of people) have “I’m gonna lose weight” as one of your New Year’s resolutions, that old chestnut was mine for last year’s, and it’s one I actually kept, to the tune of 80lbs. Now, I basically made up the plan as I went along, with the only regular method being two miles a day on a treadmill. Did any of you have similar success in 2000, or do you intend on making it a succes for 2001?

I lost 40lbs this year. I plan on dropping a little more weight. I’m at 140lbs now and I’m 5’6".

Greasyfries, and 80 lbs loss is incredible. You should be very proud of yourself. Crash, congrats to you as well on the 40 lbs loss. That’s great.

I lost over 50 lbs in 1998 and have kept it off since. I’d still like to add some muscle and lose some fat, but I am doing this mainly through lifting weights. I pretty much consider myself on maintenance as far as food goes. I have been so busy with work the last month, and so sick the last week, that I haven’t been to the health club in over a month, but I am going to start going back next week.

Luckily I found a way of eating that I like, and a form of exercise that I like, so I’ve been able to maintain the loss.

I lost 12-14 pounds over the last few months (I waver back and forth with those last two pounds). I am re-joining my gym today. I’d like to get down to 112, or at least turn my 116 into muscle. My main goal for the year is to keep the weight off.

My method of losing weight so far has been to keep off the junk food. Fruit instead of candy, etc. I’ve been doing okay with that plan. Only gained back 2 of the 6 I’ve lost recently during the holidays (not sure I even gained that back–just guesswork with the scales, etc.) So I plan to continue the weight loss goal/plan I started during the last part of 2000 during 2001.

this past year, I lost about 10 pounds, and I now weigh in at 106-107. I hope to somehow to lose 6-7 more lbs so I can be at around 100.

At some point between the beginning and end of 2000 I managed to lose about 12 pounds. I think in the past week I’ve put it all back on again

Back to the gym as of tomorrow though!
