I’ve tried and for the life of me, I can’t figure out what the hell you’re talking about, so I just posted some links to older, similar threads. Is this a thread about minute details in comic books, or just a direct brain-to-keyboard outlet for your stream-of-consciousness rambling? If you don’t like where the thread is going, you can e-mail a mod and ask them to close it, or quit bitching about it and let it sink. Then, maybe next time put a little more thought into what threads you start.
As has already been pointed out this is turning into another “sequel didn’t happen” thread, where as the OP was worded in such a way that people would either post things that did happen that they didn’t like, such as what made the sequel so bad, or post little know trivia, a la, Hank Hill of King of the Hill, is a New Yawker, by birth, and not a Texan.
Instead people are posting movies they never liked, without saying why. However, people enjoy doing this so I say "live and let live, and respond when people ask “Why are you being a wet Blanket.”
According to a series of trading cards produced by Topps to coincide with the release of Rocky II, “Rocky” is the character’s nickname. On one of the cards (which was Not in a scene in the movie), Rocky is speaking at what appears to be an auditorium. The banner above him says "Welcome ROBERT “Rocky” Balboa. I stole this, and will go on to steal even more from Oh Joy! Movie & Film Trivia Facts
Bwahaha!
I guess I don’t understand what you were trying to get from this thread either.
I would offer a (friendly) word of advice to the OP: don’t try to “ride herd” in the threads you start. (I’ve seen at least one other thread where you objected to a poster not responding as you might’ve intended.) Best to let threads go where the posters take them.
I agree, people have been having fun with posting sequels that they never wish happend, that doesn’t seem to stop me from posting what fact I don’t like about fiction. I am not trying to “ride heard”, just showing examples of what I like. If people would stop asking me to explain the fact that…
Aw, never mind. Now, I always thought that Transformers took place in the Marvel comics universe, since it was a marvel comic, and Spiderman appered in one issue.
However, it isn’t. Why, I don’t know, but it seems that it is no longer considered as happening in the same universe as Spiderman and the X-men.
I’m one of them…
Anyways, I heard that Britney Spears was going to do a movie, like all the other singer-actors/actor-singers out there, where she plays some Mary Sue virginal (hah!) character who goes on a chick road trip with her two best friends. But the director cancelled the whole thing, and by doing so, saved the world from a horrible apocalyptic movie that would have sucked the eyes out of its sockets of those who dared to see it in its entire evilness.
Unfortunately, I’m still looking for my other eyeball. I hope it hasn’t been squished and/or stolen.
I’m glad that Arthur C. Clarke never tried to write a sequel to Rendezvous With Rama being content to leave the reader with unanswered questions.
I’m also glad that Joe Haldemann never wrote a sequel to The Forever War .

Okay, in the spirit of the OP, lemme wrack my feeble brain to come up with some unpleasant trivia…uhmm,
Bugs Bunny is a racist. In 12 WWII era shorts, such as “Nip the Nips” - Bugs dispatches Japanese soldiers while verbally assaulting them with every slur from “g**k” to “slanty eyes.” Naturally, the Japanese are depicted in the most egregious “asian menace” stereotypes.
Also, Jimi Hendrix was (at least for a time) in favor of the war in Vietnam. “Purple Haze” was originally interpreted as an anti-war protest song, and Hendrix in response was said to deny it, and defend the U.S. invasion. (He later changed his mind, though.) I don’t have a cite, but I do recall a VH1 “behind the scenes” (or some such show) in which a close friend related his viewpoint.
Whoa, Nice!
Here is another link elaborating on that, with pictures. I found the site during a google search, and not from die-hard reseach, so please be warned, much of the toic is unplesant, as is the rest of the site.
Wasn’t he a cop? No, I am thinking of a Stephen King story starring him. In real life, he was a paratrooper.
So’s Superman, as demonstrated by the infamous Slap The Japs cover. And most every other WWII-era cover featuring him.
He is also a… What that word? Oh yeah, creep.
At least according to comic book covers that put events out of context. At least, I hope they are out of context.
Can you imagine if they had really cast Colin Baker as the Doctor, instead of replacing Peter Davison with Sylvester McCoy? /shudder/
