I’m sorry, a lot of that is my fault. I realized I was sort of crapping on the thread, but it was too late to edit it away when I realized.
Another bit actor who appeared a few times worthing mentioning: Michael Barrier, also one of the better supporting actors. In one ep, he even was ‘in charge’ of the bridge, I believe, when the landing party beamed down. After a ton of bit roles in the 1960s, left the acting biz for a legal career in the Coast Guard!.
I’m not particularly blaming anyone. As you may have guessed from my user name, I can sling Star Trek trivia with the best of them.
But Whitney did have a life and a career apart from Star Trek, and on some level it makes me feel…let’s call it “odd”…that we can’t find much to talk about that isn’t Trek-related. I do think this is probably inevitable, given the tremendous cultural influence Star Trek exerts as compared to anything else Whitney was involved with.
I’m not trying to make anyone feel bad, or to play junior mod or anything, but it is something I’ve been thinking about.
RIP, Grace.
IMDB lists one of her credits as Some Like It Hot. I don’t recall her role. I have a copy of it somewhere. ![]()
She’s probably a member of the all-girl band. Look for her in the jam session on board the train.
For some time now, it has become virtually mandatory in certain circles to proclaim that a successful actor “can’t act.” I don’t understand this phenomenon at all.
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve read that X “can’t act,” I would be a millionaire.
I’m guessing that you haven’t paid very much attention to the female officer costumes. There wasn’t a single minidress on that show.
There was, however, plenty of micro-minidresses.
I think you’re right:

Does this qualify?: Court Martial (episode) | Memory Alpha | Fandom
I’m not understanding your meaning, here. Are you talking about a particular fandom that routinely insults a particular performer, or are you discussing people (in general) making critical remarks about the acting ability of any and all performers? (Or something else?)
Yep.
