Yes, I'm back.

Well, give me a ring sometime and we can discuss it!

Heeey Tuba.

You’re right, I do honor your reasons, and I respect your opinion. But…

I agree that it would be difficult (to the point of tippy-toeing) to get into much here. I guess I should have been clearer: Often times folks say “I regret…” without actually saying why it is they “regret” it or expressing remorse for their actions. (Do they regret being caught? Do they regret the ensuing shitstorm? Or do they regret acting badly?) Without clarification that, to me, is either a way around actually taking responsiblity for their screw ups or being too proud to face the music. It would be so simple for her to say something along the lines of, “I regret my actions and take full responsibility for my poor judgment. I am very sorry for that. Rest assured, it won’t happen again.”

I agree. But until I know what she’s feeling – by her words, not by my or your assumptions – I can’t see whether she really understands the seriousness of her actions. You clearly know her much better than I, so you’re giving her the benefit of the doubt. I’m not.

Frankly, considering how many people around here have been sticking up for her – people who’s opinions I respect, like yours – I was quite surprised at the manner in which she has handled her mea culpa.

For some reason, IMHO, mods around here are terrible at this sort of thing – standing up, apologizing and taking responsibility for their actions. It’s like they think they’ll lose face or something. Which to me is foolish, cause they lose more when they don’t.

I won’t dispute that – but again, what I’m trying to say is that it appears little responsibility has been taken, and little remorse shown.

Until that happens I’m afraid a lot of respect and credibility will be gone. Which is a damn shame.

Welcome back, TD.

What will be the response to the threads started after every post TubaDiva makes from now on pointing out how her actions show that she continues to be unfit as an admin or mod?

It isn’t the ring, it’s the chair.

Sancta Sedes!

WRS - S PP. I P.M.

Sigh. Another apology for the results, but not the actions. Sad really. Just one more negative in the “don’t renew” column.

Good to see you back. This can’t be easy for you, and I appreciate your courage in being willing to face it.

Hey Tuba, I’m really glad that you are back on the Boards and continuing as an Administrator. You have my respect for your past efforts, and my confidence for the future.

What she said! Sometimes decisions you make or things you say that you think are right turn out in retrospect to have been wrong, and you have to take your lumps. You did, quite graciously.

I’ll be happy to ‘see’ you around again, Jenny.

Cite?

I actually meant facing people like you who can’t forgive and forget, but I also refer you to the OP–“I deeply regret my intemperate actions.”

Sheesh.

It’s not about “forgive and forget”, but the fact that trust, once broken, is not something that’s easy to repair.

For John Paul, yeah, the chair is the big deal. But I was talking to WeRSauron, and you know where his authority rests!

Where’s my lousy T-shirt?

Welcome home!

Yes, TubaDiva’s attempts at inciting vigilante justice.

Welcome Back, Tuba. I was fortunate to not have been in the middle of the initial shitstorm and only read the subsequent threads. I’m afraid there are some that will simply not be satisfied unless your head was delivered to them personally on a silver platter. I can only say “Thank You” for your years of exemplary service to the SDMB and may you have many more!

Welcome back!!

Though some folks itch
From knickers fulla starch
Others chafe while hiding on the porch

The TubaDiva returns
Just in time for
The Ides of March.

Long live a tolerant SDMB.
