This song was played some on alternative radio in the late 90s, but it was not a major single. The band was one of those jangly frat-boy rock bands like Blink 182 or Lit, but I can’t remember who it was. The song itself was short, only about 2 minutes long, and was a much heavier and harder-hitting sound than the band was generally known for.
The problem is that I know NONE of the words. I went through iTunes and listened to every song from all the similar bands that sounded like it might have been it, and didn’t come up with anything.
Sex Type Thing was their first single, and it was probably their heaviest as far as I’m concerned. IMHO, heavy and hard-hitting don’t describe that song. I really hope people don’t think they are in the same category as Blink 182 and Lit.
Okay, total shot in the dark: “Sex and Candy” by Marcy Playground (not exactly hard-hitting perhaps but then I’m not really sure what that means to you).
I guess a heavy and hard-hitting song from this period could be the Toadies’ “Possum Kingdom” but that its pretty long IIRC. (Great song though…)
