I have always had all my iTunes tracks numbered according to CD number (which I assign to each CD) and track number, in the “Album” column. So track 12 of CD #1234 is listed as “1234.12”. This has worked very well, if I want to see what’s on a particular CD, especially one with several different artists . . . or if I want to view the content of several consecutive CDs.
Recently, something has changed. The “Album” column is now called “Album by Artist,” and sorts first by the “Artist” column, then by the “Album by Artist” column. So now, tracks on a given CD aren’t necessarily sorted together.
When I go to View Options, “Album” is still checked. There’s not even an “Album by Artist” option. There is “Album Artist,” but that’s not the same thing.
I don’t know whether this change occurred at the most recent update (9.0.2), because I just noticed it. This is on a G5 Mac, OSX.4.11, if that matters.
Is there any way to get “Album” back?
