Yet Another Movie That Might Change Your Life ... or At Least Make You Think

Not to turn Great Debates into Movie Reviews, but it just so happens that in the space of 1 month, three Christian movies have been released which is rather unheard of. And a fourth is on the way in several more weeks! I wanted to make you guys aware of what’s out there, especially for those of you who might be curious about investigating Christianity further.

For the record the movies I am speaking of are as follows:

Left Behind: The Movie from Cloud Ten Pictures (the subject of my last thread of a similar title)
Judgment from Cloud Ten Pictures
Carman the Champion from 8X Pictures
Road to Redemption from WorldWide Pictures

I spent the last thread on LB: The Movie, and I haven’t seen Road to Redemption (it will be out in a few weeks). I just saw Carman the Champion tonight and found it to be surprisingly good. For those who don’t know Carman is a very popular Christian artist, and to be honest I didn’t expect him to know how to act. He did a good job, and the story was interesting! I’d recommend it.

But that’s not the movie I want to talk about in this thread. The one I want to talk about is “JUDGMENT”, a new movie from Cloud Ten Pictures. It’s only available on video now, but I think they plan on a theatrical release at some point in the future. It should be at video rental stores at some point too. The web address is http://www.judgment-themovie.com.

Why do I want to highlight and bring up this movie on this message board? One reason. The central plot is a trial set in the future in which God is the defendant. In this trial, God is accused of many of the exact same things I’ve heard Him accused of on this very message board. It is one of the better acted and thought provoking Christian films I’ve seen. It’s an intelligent film and doesn’t talk down to you.

In all honestly, I like it quite a bit better than Left Behind.

I think even some of you skeptics would find it interesting to see many of the arguments against God laid out in a courtroom setting, and see how those involved respond. It has several twists and turns that are good.

So anyway, while I realize this isn’t really a “Great Debate”, it’s about a movie that contains a great debate, and it is proselytizing  so I figured this was the place for it. I hope you guys check it out, and I’d be genuinely curious what some of you think, pro or con.

Origionally I was just going to roll my eyes. But I figured I should follow the link first.

Mr. T is in the movie.
Mr. T is in the movie.
MR. T IS IN THE MOVIE.

I pity the fool who doesn’t see this movie.

A synopsis from the Judgment-the-movie’s web site. (I believe this qualifies as fair use.)

Ok, first Kirk Cameron and now Mr. T?!? Does Cloud Ten Pictures have some sort of contract with the Home for Retired Washed-Up Television Stars of the 1980s?

What’s next? Tina Yothers as Mary Magdalene?

Thanks for posting the synopsis flowbark!

LOL! I thought the same thing when I saw Mr. T. Hey how about Lee Majors as John the Apostle? :stuck_out_tongue:

Boner from Family Ties as Judas Iscariot!

Boner was from Growing Pains.

Ok. I’ll see it just as soon as you see “The Rapture” and “Last Temptation of Christ”. Deal?

Strangely, I am ashamed to have made that mistake.

It’s ok, Badtz. At least you remembered the character’s name–we won’t revoke your 1980s Nostalgia Club membership just yet!

Personally I’m waiting for “Dungeons & Dragons.” I’m sure it’ll change my life as well.

Esprix

Well, should I ever feel the need to be witnessed to, I’ll keep this in mind. No offense, but it’s probably best if all you don’t hold your breath, though.

I sure hope you’re kidding…

::ahem::

Frankly, the only movie that’s changed my life has been Star Wars. I leave it to the reader to figure out WHY it’s changed my life, and it what manner.

Our local weekly has a brief preview of “Carman: The Champion.”

I see the reviewer has some experience with the genre.

It sure will. It will make you blind. Because I can assure you that after watching thirty minutes of “Dungeons and Dragons,” you will be motivated to gouge your own eyes out so you don’t have to watch the rest.

Getting back to “Judgement,” am I the only one who’s sick and tired of these Cloud Ten bozos and their ilk mixing “One World Government Conspiracy” (which we all know really means Evil Jews) crappola in with their religious messages? I can take a religious message, but the endless U.N./ZOG conspiracy stuff gets old fast.

Maybe Cloud Ten could reach more people if they didn’t surround their religious messages with stupid conspiracy theories.

Arnie Becker defending God? Maybe they can get Perseus and Lori Partrige for the next movie.

Hmmm, I wasn’t aware there was a shortage of information! Where I live, everytime you turn around you smack into a church or a billboard proclaiming “Coming Soon! King Jesus!”

(as an aside, in Tuscaloosa there used to be a billboard saying exactly that - with a cartoon blonde-haired, blue-eyed Jesus! oh it was to laugh!)

I’d be interested in seeing how he acts, since he is certainly not a very good musician/singer/rapper. When I watched his Christian rap video while channel flipping, I cringed in absolute pain. No lie!

You say that they use a lot of the same arguments found on this board - and apparently, in your mind, they come up with some sound rebuttals. If that’s the case, spare us all spending our $7 and just let us know what fabulous answers they came up with - somehow I’m doubting that this film is going to revolutionize Christian apologetics.

Geez, if money can get a criminal off the hook in court, imagine what being the Almighty can get you!

OBSOLETE! OBSOLETE!

Sigh… where’s Burgess Meredith when you need him.

The Tim, damn you! Damn you to hell! You know I got a weakness for the T.

FriendofGod, with all due respect, I highly doubt any of these movies you are promoting will “change the lives” of anyone who is not already conditioned to endure this pap in the name of their faith. I’m still giggling over Washington Post critic Desson Howe’s review of “Left Behind”, so I can’t wait to see what he does with this one. Only 9 spots left on his Worst Movie of the Year list!
Can Cloud Ten productions take all the top spots?

Oh, I disagree with that – I’m sure that if I were to see any of the movies that FoG has been advocating, my life would definitely change; I’d be even more determined that my atheistic lifestyle is the right one, because I wouldn’t be supporting poorly-written tripe like Left Behind etc.

But I’m trying to stay civil whenever I meet moroni^H^H^H^H^H^H Christian fundamentalists, so I better not go see those movies…
