It’s not a regular thing around here but we made a pizza with garlic butter (i.e. no marinara), mozarella, bacon and thin-sliced potato and it was shockingly good

Sounds delicious! Did you pre-cook the potato?

we didn’t pre-cook the potato, but the slices were super duper thin, like mandoline-thin… otherwise you might consider par cooking the potato for best results
