What pizza topping is weirdest?

What topping that others think is odd would you be willing to eat on your pizza? I’m going to say broccoli.

“Congratulations, San Francisco, you’ve ruined pizza!”

I’ve had shrimp on pizza. It’s actually pretty good.

I’ll let someone else track down and link to the Homer Simpson video clip.

Anchovies are common.
So is The Clap.
Avoid both.

Eggs. There are places that crack raw eggs on their pizza, then finish cooking. Words cannot express the EXISTENTIAL WRONGNESS of such a thing. Even Cthulhu would be repulsed.

Lot of places around here make a pizza with sauerkraut as a topping. I haven’t had it but I’d be willing to try it.

I’ve had pickles on pizza, and it was pretty damned good. You can put pretty much anything on a pizza and make it work. My favorite pizza (the Rosa from Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix) has pistachios on the pizza, which some may find odd. When I make my own pizzas, I do find nuts can go pretty well in certain styles. Eggs I’ve had and find all right. One place around here does a chopped pepperoni and egg pizza that is pretty decent, but the eggs are cooked hard, while I’d prefer runny. It basically tastes like a “breakfast pizza.”

There’s a traditional pizza that has rosemary and thinly sliced potatoes on it. Bit of a carb overload, but that’s good, too.

Pepsi-Roni pizza. I should have put it here instead of making a new thread, perhaps.

I’ve seen pizza places in Wisconsin offer a “bratwurst” pizza, usually topped with sliced or crumbled bratwurst, sauerkraut, and mustard. I’m not a sauerkraut fan, so I have never tried it.

I doubt there is any cooked food that I like otherwise that I wouldn’t also enjoy on pizza. BTW - An over easy egg on pizza is something I’ll order whenever it is available.

Check out Pizzeria Mozza LA, annex to the Michelin starred Osteria Mozza, and then talk to me about egg on pizza.

My co-worker mentioned that a place had peaches on the menu as a pizza topping the other day.

I wouldn’t say never and would be willing to try it. I like pineapple on pizza very much and I’ve had and liked all kinds of fruits with cheese or something else savory and liked them. But peaches just seem too sweet and wet/mushy to taste nice on pizza.

One of the local places around my area has a Crab Rangoon Pizza with
cream cheese, imitation crab meat, scallions, covered in pizza cheese and served with a side of duck sauce.

I have never heard of it before they started offering. Is this a thing in other parts of the US? (I am in northern New Hampshire, for reference.)

What’s wrong with anchovies?

“Do you like penicillin on your pizza?”

When I was a teen a place here in Phoenix had a banana and raisin pizza. Since I loathe bananas and am not all that keen on raisins – although I do eat them, unlike 'nannas – I never partook.

More than 25 years ago, my then girlfriend had a fruit pizza in the Netherlands. It had slices of strawberries, kiwis, bananas and oranges. I wouldn’t eat it, but she liked it.

I mean, pizza is just bread – it’s a blank slate. So why not make a sweet pizza? I assume the fruit pizza wasn’t on tomato sauce, but if it was, it probably can still work.

Here in Olympia, most of the locally-owned pizzerias offer cashews as a topping.

There are some weird but obviously popular pizza toppings here in Germany. In many Italian pizzerias, you can order pizza spaghetti bolognese. And most Turkish döner kebab places have pizza döner, topped with all the things you usually get in a döner, meat slices, salad, tomatoes, onions, cacik and other sauces. I wouldn’t order both.
