Good God, someone needs to get a proofreader on that quiz, stat. Some of the questions looked like they’d been typed by someone randomly banging on a keyboard while blindfolded. And some were really strangely worded, too.
But anyway, I scored Social Liberal, no surprise there. 66% personal liberty, 27% economic liberty.
Sounds about right.
Paleo-Liberal
You scored 73% Personal Liberty and 40% Economic Liberty!
A paleo-liberal believes in low to moderate government intervention on personal matters and moderate government intervention on economic matters. They tend to be opposed to war, police powers and victimless crimes. They believe in a social safety net, but to a lesser extent then most leftists. They generally believe in protecting personal liberty. They support self-ownership and privacy. Some Paleo-liberals may lean towards embracing capitalism as an economic system. Paleo-liberals are reminiscent of the attitude of the “new left” of the 60’s and 70’s. Strong Paleo-Liberals border on Libertarianism.
Hmph. I consider myself more of pure liberal than I scored. Probably because my economic knowledge is weak.
Civil Libertarian
83% Personal Liberty, 40% Economic Liberty
Centrist
You scored 42% Personal Liberty and 46% Economic Liberty!
I lost any respect for this questionnaire at about the fourth spelling error.
Social Liberal
** You scored 71% Personal Liberty and 39% Economic Liberty!**
A social liberal believes in little to moderate government intervention on personal matters and moderate to high government intervention on economic matters. They tend to be opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, and what they may consider to be a corporate state or rogue capitalism. They generally support personal liberty and believe in a social safety net or welfare state. They support self-ownership and privacy. Social liberals are essentially the “mainstream” left and left of center.
This sounds about right for me, even though a number of the questions were strangely constructed.
160 questions? Pal, I’m not taking a test that long unless it helps me get into college.
How is that off? Most people in the U.S. are statists. At least everyone who votes.
Too bleeding right, especially as badly written as it was. :smack:

But that tesst was so apaulingly writen, I dout it’s verasity.
(Although the results are pretty much in line with my beliefs.)
Social Liberal (67%/39%). Probably about right, as these questions go.
Paleo-Liberal.
I could have tolerated the spelling errors, but many of the questions were plain stupid. And the results, I’ll guess, are just how one blogger chose to scored it, with no relation to any careful design or controlled experiment.
A fun thread for Dopers, perhaps in The Game Room, might be to design collectively a good political “test,” with clear intelligent questions.
Didn’t vote, too US-centric.
Centrist: 58% on personal liberty and 52% on economic liberty.
Libertarian (74% Social, 63% Economic)
Neo-Liberal
You scored 46% Personal Liberty and 28% Economic Liberty!
I am in Soviet Canuckistan.
Social Liberal
You scored 65% Personal Liberty and 24% Economic Liberty!
Had to leave several questions blank due to wording.
Social Liberal
65% Personal Liberty, 32% Economic Liberty
I had a problem with a lot of the absolute questions. For example,
“America should totally politically and financially support Israel under all circumstances.”
The short answer to this is “No,” America should not support Israel under ALL circumstances. I was unsure of how to answer this, since I am in general in favor of US support of Israel. But if Israel starting nuking children’s hospitals in the middle east region, I wouldn’t swear undying support to them. So I said “agree” and pretended the “under all circumstances” didn’t exist.
