Well, since you’re going to quote me/thank me, I think I have to clarify: the only reason I don’t see anything wrong with lezler’s first response is because I assumed she was like me. You know, you say you hate someone for a bit, then you get over it and like them again. The “hate” is mostly just to get across how much it annoys you. If this is actually a grudge thing, then I do see a problem.
Neither of you should be judging the other in this way. Both of you are jerks, apparently. Blaming someone for their anxiety disorder is really, really low, sven. But so is carrying a grudge about someone because you don’t like their conversation style.
Oh, and sven: look at my post in that thread: I said the same thing you did, and she actually agrees with me. There’s a reason why compassionate people are the therapists. You know, the people actually qualified to deal with a social phobia.
Maybe a little bit of a grudge. The reason I kept “digging” (and I honestly didn’t see it as that, I saw it as trying to justify why I brought the snark. I now realize that was pointless and taken wrong) was because I honestly want her to acknowledge that just because people feel differently from her, doesn’t mean those feeings are wrong or “silly”. My attempts at actually communicating what bugs me about the posts are seen as continued jabs. Not my intent.
But if everyone wants to keep coming with the personal insults we can do that too, I suppose.
She only called you silly after you changed the thread from “Is this hostess rude?” to “How rude is this hostess?” I’d have to agree. That was pretty silly.
You took what she said and blew it all out of proportion.
You are reading all kinds of stuff into this that is not here. And then you demand that she “acknowledge that just because people feel differently from her, doesn’t mean those feeings are wrong or ‘silly’.” Many people told you that bringing the games is not something to get bent out of shape about. She was reasonable and logical and you were not. Who cares if she annoyed you in past threads? By your reasoning, any feelings you have are always perfectly justified, because they’re your own feelings. Well, sometimes people’s feelings ARE silly. Even if they’re you.
I respect that she considers that a compliment, but if I ever earn a similar award (not likely) don’t even fucking tell me. I would feel patronized to.
As for that other thread, what the fuck did Cameroon have to do with the price of tea. People were coming at her sideways out of the blue. Not Lezlers, for the record, who I could at least see why she felt she had to respond hard (she didn’t appreciate being called silly or whatever), but random posters dropping in to bring up irrellevant shit on even sven was just baffling.
