How much time must one have on their hands to come up with this? My mind is boggled by this.

Thats about the most specialist hobby i’ve ever come across, and I have to say
What’s the freaking point?!?!?
Aw, they’re not losers! They’re just…different.
Why not just join the artillery?
These guys even make ricers look good.
What the hell is the point?
WHAT?!
Kind of ironic.
Such waste, especially considering all those poor kids in Africa with nothing but AM.
go easy on me it was my first attempt to use size. I was aiming for
What’s the freaking point?!?!?!
I’m still stunned that they “reinforce” their car doors with cement!
Shouldn’t these guys be pulling down a living putting in car stereos or something?
You’ll have to speak up Carl! I still can’t hear you and my heart is starting to beat erratically from the bass!
Well, if they could generate that low frequency tone that either neil young or the army is working on that forces contractions in the colon causing unintended defecation in ones trousers, I might just sponsor one of these decibel dunderheads myself.
Wired article from 2000 on the subject.
I remember seeing some program on this sort of thing a few years ago.
there were two groups of people… I fogret the names they had given themselves.
One lot wanted to make as much noise with their car sterios as possible, the other lot wanted the best possible sound quality from their car sterio.
Either way, both groups were going out spending stupid amounts of money on their cars. I was just left wondering if all of that is covered under their insurance…
Perhaps they are the descendents of Throbbing Gristle?
I have a friend who has three farads of capacitance on the power supply for his car audio. His amp can deliver 1800 watts RMS and double that for peaks if he feels like rewiring it. He had to get a special 150 Amp high output alternator because when he drove while playing music, his battery would be dead when he got home. To solve that issue, he installed a deep cycle marine grade sealed battery with Absorbed Glass Mat technology. It delivers 1,400 cold cranking amps via the high discharge from the glass mat’s massive surface area. It has a 120 Amp hour reserve at a 20 Amp hour delivery rate. It can cycle down to an 8 Volt baseline 500 times before deteriorating. Before he changed batteries, his car lights would dim during night driving if he turned up the music too loud.
He also installed a 15 amp standard AC outlet in his car. Currently, he’s migrating over to compact server based MP3 file storage to eliminate any need for CDs. Half a gigabyte of RAM will augment 40 gigs of mass storage. The hard drives will short cycle for file shunting and then shut off to avoid head touchdowns while driving.
And, yes, your ears do bleed when he cranks up the volume while you’re in the car. To be fair, he carries high quality industrial ear plugs in his car at all times and refuses to expose small children to such sound levels.
Hah, fantastic.
Zenster, at least that systems plays music, right?
Welcome aboard(s), confiteor!
Egads
