I’d go on a round the world trip or seperate tours of different regions to get a feel for places, figure out the ones I like most, then go back and spend more time in each of them.
Everywhere. Do a long, meandering, around-the-world trip, starting by going up to somewhere in Canada and hopping on a cargo ship to England or France. Cross Europe, down through Africa, go to Australia, then southeast Asia, south America to central America, and finally back to Santa Fe.
Europe. Never been and want to go before I get to be too old to enjoy it.
All over the USA. Been to a lot of it when I was younger. I’d like to revisit several places and see new ones before I get to be too old etc.
Pacific Rim. Lived in Jakarta, Singapore and Australia for a while. Like to revisit and see new places etc.
Gotta hit the lottery, though. These days I can’t even afford to drive around the block.
Just recalled somewhere to go back to: Chile.
My one previous visit was in the northern area of Chile. The one day of that time that was available to visit the amazing geoglyphs of the Atacama desert, I brought my camera and no related supplies. So of course my camera’s batteries died before arrival at the glyphs! :smack:
Thus, at the very least I’d love to back to the geoglyphs with my camera AND a supply of fresh batteries. But I’m aware there are plenty of other great things to see and visit in Chile.
I forgot to add Agra, India to my want-to-see list. To me, the Taj Mahal has got to be one of the best buildings ever built. I’d love to see it in person.
But then, I do second (third/fourth?) all those who said they’d take a round-the-world trip. I’d probably do that, too, and just hit everything on my list while I’m at it. I mean, if money’s no object, why not go all out?
Though, I’m having a hard time thinking of places I wouldn’t go. Though, I’d have to skip those countries embroiled in a war for now, for survival’s sake.
I’d love to go skiing in the Alps. I have a few other things on tap for this winter, so I’m planning to go to Innsbruck during the winter of 2006/07.
Apart from that, I’d like to see London, St. Petersburg and Istanbul, someday.
Rome or London. I’ve been to both cities, but wasn’t in either one of them long enough to appreciate them fully.
First of all go Maine! I am proud that a few of you chose ME/ NE.
I would first choose Australia; There is such diverse places and things to see.
Next Hungary, where my family is from and my mom is there now.
For me, it’d have to be a road trip across the US or Europe.
I’ve already done a bit in Europe, but it was mostly Germany, Belgium and Holland. There’s obviously so much more, especially in central and eastern Europe.
Then again, there’s the coast-to-coast drive across the US that I really want to make sometime.
For now, I’ll have to satisfy myself with a drive to Goa, since that’s about all I can afford
I’d go to Egypt first - the Pyramids, etc. - then Sicily and (time allowing) Naples and Rome.
New place: Madagascar. I’d like to see the wildlife there before it all goes extinct.
Old place: I’d go right back to Montana, where I was last week, back to Glacier NP and the Garden Wall. When I die, just scatter my ashes over Lake McDonald and the Highline Trail. Serve pizza from Truby’s in Whitefish at the wake.
And Moose Drool beer from Missoula?
Has anyone ever been to St. Petersburg, Russia? That’s where I’d go, but I don’t know what else to see besides the famous Winter Palace.
What else is there to do and/or see?
