When I see stuff like this I want to puke! Why is that so many small groups or single persons think they know what’s best for EVERYBODY else – Why don’t you fuck wads just leave us ALONE!
If I want to let the school send MY son to a rodeo that’s MY fuckin’ business BITCH. If your boy Collin cant handle it then send him to knitting class that day, (though I suspect it would probably be one of the most fun fieldtrips he has ever been on, and he is always going to resent you for humiliating him by making him and ALL his friends miss it for now and ever more!) Lady, if people like you are not stopped we are soon going to be a nation of wimpy fucking robots because it will be legislated that NO CHILD SHALL EVER EXPERIANCE REALITY IN ANY FORM EXCEPT THAT WHICH WE (NOT YOU) DICTATE TO BE POLITACALLY CORRECT. I think all you people who are using the courts to enforce you short sighted views of the world should seriously go fuck yourselves, and leave the rest of us alone!

Seriously, I am an American and I am rather proud of that fact.
But lately, as stuff like this comes out in the press here I get embarrassed to admit it.
My son is an American too, the first 2 years of his life were spent in the U.S.A. and the last 5 here in Brazil. We are going back some time in the near future and I would like to put him in the same public schools that I went to. But lately I’m wondering if this is such a great idea, after all at his school here he CAN play TAG, and DODGE BALL, and they have SWING SETS and do go on field trips to FARMS. On one field trip they saw first hand how the poor oppressed and abused cows were hooked up to sinister machines and FORCED TO GIVE MILK! After that, the helpless little darlings (the kids, not the cows) were made to eat ICE CREAM, (which comes from milk by the way - tell me that wasn’t educational and fun.) Imagine what the animal rights activists would have to say about that!

So I’m thinking it might be better wait till he finishes college in order to protect him from the likes of bone heads like Peggy Hilden and her squad of fuck wad do-gooders that think they know better how to raise my son then I do.
Its pretty sad when you think about it, I’m staying away from the United States of America in order to preserve my ideal of the American way of life – Pathetic!

Presumably school excursions are not compulsory in the US and those parents who are fine with the proposed activity sign the permission note and those who aren’t fine with it don’t.
The recent posts about restrictions being imposed on school activities in the US really scare me, as Australia has a tendency to follow suit a few years later. School is one of the few places here where kids can actually be kids these days (the possibility of litigation has seen public recreation opportunities for children severely curtailed).
There are times when I weep for the future of children in the West - this is one of them.
We currently have a parent in our area raising hell in the media because her 8 year old child’s class at the Christian school she attends was told that Santa is a myth. What on earth did she think Christian schools teach about Christmas? (and do 8 year olds really believe in Santa these days?)
Generally, a seperate permission form is sent home for every field trip, and if you do not have permission to go you have a study period, or you sit in the library. Field trips have been optional, for a while.
Personally, I love school excursions - they give my children the opportunity to go so many places and do so many things which for financial or practical reasons we would never do as a family.
Rodeos always bored me but somebody should remind this woman about the existence of permission slips.
Anyway, after reading the linked article, I get the impression that the whole purpose of the suit is not so much to prevent young minds from being warped but rather to put rodeos on the whole on trial before the general public. If this suit does go to trial, animal rights activists are going to have a forum where they can present the rodeo’s entire history of alleged animal abuse. By doing this, even if they lose the suit, they’ll have enough people so repulsed by the event that rodeos will soon die out.
I wonder how long it will be before the PC people target field trips to the zoo?
Well, you could make the point that rodeos promote cowboy abuse given that a substantial number get the living tar kicked out of them on a regular basis. I’ve always thought it was one of the few sports where the animals have an equal chance of ‘winning’ as the humans do.
Why in the world can’t the other kids go? If she doesn’t want her child to go, fine. But this bullshit where she wants to dictate what the other families and kids want to do is arrogant nonsense.
