“Ulsterisation” was the term the Brits used for turning over control of day-to-day security matters to the RUC and UDR (and we all know how well that worked :rolleyes: ). So it’s not difficult to see how they came up with “Iraqiisation”, though admittedly it doesn’t flow nearly as well.
It’s a perfectly cromulent word!

It comes from “Vietnamization”, which was used during that war to denote the idea of transferring military responsibility from US troops to their Vietnamese counterparts. I only wish we were actually doing that in Iraq…

One of my former, er, liaisons accidentally came up with the word “belignorant”, which I think would be quite useful in certain situations.
