You F&!@'in Parakeet!

My co-worker heard a line in the Sopranos last night that we don’t understand. The quote was “F!@#$ you! You F!@#$in Parakeet!”. What is a parakeet in this context? Does it mean a tattletale (one who “sings”)? L’il help?

I didn’t see the episode, but that would be my guess. “Singing like a bird” means telling what you know, especially to the police, so any bird-related nicknames used in a crime context tend to mean something like that.

I’ve heard it as “He’s singing like a canary” but never a parakeet.

Perhaps he was calling him an imitator?

Thats the only context I can think of.

I found it. This page on mobspeak says a parakeet = An attractive woman.

The Sopranos board says it means “he repeats everything anyone says,” which could mean that he’s an informant or that he’s annoying.
