You know you want a new election thread!

Okay, this isn’t really about the election, per se.
I found this (.gif) county-by-county national map, showing red/blue. It shows the Democrat/Republican breakdown was not as lopsided as the red/blue state map would lead you to believe.

Just thought it was neat, wanted to share.

That and some other interesting maps can be found on the Michael Moore site.

I loved this one, posted by Mark Morford in the Chronicle last week.

Wow, look at Chicago! We’re so blue they couldn’t even fit the whole blue tower in the image! We’re off the charts!

It represents number of votes, I think.
Here’s the entire article. It makes an interesting point that the most likely targets for another terrorist attack all voted overwhelmingly blue…

I figured that one out. Cook County isn’t the most populous in the US (although with 5.3 million people, it isn’t exactly rural), but I guess we had the highest combination of big population and Kerry supporters (81%).

That’s pretty neat.

Okay, a bit of googling reveals Cook County is the second most populous county in the US. Hey, LA liberals! How come your tower isn’t so high? Get off your butts and start thinking about 2006!

My home county is red although not bright, bright red and the county I’m living in now (assuming I am looking at the right one… I’m still not a hundred percent on the geography in this area) is pretty purplish with maybe a tad bit of a red overtone.

Sigh. I want to live in Cook County. I wanna be blue.

What’s stopping you? The ChiDopers are really nice!

Wait, that’s not the word.

The ChiDopers are a bunch of snarky alcoholic bitches. Yeah, that’s a more accurate depiction. But we’re liberal snarky alcoholic bitches!

No, they won’t. They’re a bunch of girly men, cowering in Arnold’s shadow. They won’t even stay for the 6th inning of a Dodgers game. :dubious:

Well, can you blame them? It’s the Dodgers, fercryinoutloud. Not like they have the NL MVP, or anything. :stuck_out_tongue:
