You lose an eye. Eye patch? Glass eye? Other?

Solid blue glass eye. Then bitch about the cost of Spice…

Some things I’d want to get, if money was no object:

  1. A glass eye with a little picture of a person trapped inside, pressing on the “wall” to get out.

  2. A shiny reflective one, like a ball bearing.

  3. A set of eyepatches that matched anything I wore, like my tie. Snazzy!

  4. I wonder if a glow-in-the-dark glass eye would be possible?

Several years ago I gouged my cornea with my contact lens, having forgotten in was in there. I had to wear a patch for a week or two. I pulled it off rather well. That seems a lot simpler than getting a fake fitted.

So, if you’ve got a glass eye, how does that work? Do you leave it in there all the time, or do you take it out at night? Can you remove it yourself at all, or does that need a doctor’s visit?

Why? If I had an empty socket and had to fill it with something, my first inclination would be to have an artist make me something unique and cool. Maybe get a tiny Josh Simpson planetto stick in there.

Pointer? How about a frikkin’ “la-ser,” period. And wear a sharkskin eye patch over it when not using it to vaporize those who vex you.
