Is one or more of them Catholic?
Could be so there are no messy asset disputes. There is no marital estate if there was no marriage.
A civil annulment is of no religious significance to the Catholic church. If one or the other of them is Catholic and wanted a religious annulment, there would need to be application made through the proper RC channels.
Is there a TX or CA law that you can get an annulment if you’re married for less than a year? Britney Spears annulled her marriage from Jason Alexander. Was the reason for that because they were both “incapacited” or drunk?
I find nothing in the links I provided indicating that there is a maximum timeframe in either state for seeking an annulment. “Being married for less than a year” is not grounds for an annulment in either tate. The only ground in either state that has anything to do with the timing of the marriage is Texas’s “married less than 72 hours from issuance of license” ground.
Britney Spears IIRC had her marriage annulled in Nevada under an “incapacity” argument.
Not surprising. One of my friends breathed a sigh of relief because she figured that these two would make the UGLIEST baby in the history of the world.
FWIW, I always have thought Kenny Chesney looks like what an attempted abortion gone bad (ie the fetus ends up living) would look like at 40 years.
Yuh…sometimes the beautiful people just ain’t.
