You lying toerag!

‘Bottler’ Brown tries to blame his mistake in selling gold on the Tories. Youtube link.

Bloody hell, you moron, all you needed to say was that maybe it could have been done better and you’ve learned from the episode, but to try to blame it on the Tories is just taking the piss. The sale was extraordinarily ineptly handled.

Oh yes, and he mentoned his success in buying Euros. They’ve gone up and the pound has gone down. Some success, there.

Can you give the Yank some more background information on this apparent scandal please? I need context. Thanks…

Basically Brown, who was Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time, sold off a large proportion of the U.K.'s gold reserves all at once. Gold has since quadrupled in value. And he’s trying to blame it on the previous (Tory / Conservative) administration. Sorry, but it was his decision and no one else’s.

We call him Bottler Brown because last year he stoked up election fever and then didn’t call an election. Brown is, in fact, well known for his glass jaw (he backed down from challenging Tony Blair numerous times). He’s a classic bully. The sad (for him) thing is that he bottled before all the bad news hit: he’d have won the election handily.
