And the province Newfoundland. And whether or not it’s the one with the squid-jiggin’ ground.
(I was asked tonight where and what, exactly, the Maritimes are. I forgave her because she retired from American Airlines some years ago, and nobody, she says, flies there! )
Nope, least of all any of those Newfies who live in the Northwest Territories and Alberta… nope, no sir, they sure don’t fly there four or five times a year.
I dont actually know what a plane is…dory is my mode of transport
You know what a ‘double-double’ is and where to get it.
Now, you should know that Newfoundland isn’t in the Maritimes.
People have neglected to mention the universal Canadian experience.
I was working on the movie Black Robe being filmed near Chicoutimi and mentioned it to the Australians working on the crew (Canada/Australian co-production).
Two of them tried it.
One was able to pull away unassisted.
We had to use a cup of tepid water to separate the second’s tongue from the metal pole.
Such are the risks of filming in north-central Quebec in late November.
Being a somewhat older (46) Canuck, I guess I can’t be surprised that watching Chez Helene was not mentioned. But the funniest moment in Canadian television history is the Codco episode where they pay homage to Chez Helene by having Helene put Susie in a roasting pan and shoving her into the oven.
That’s Air Canada for ya!
